I'm running for Chairman!

The Macomb County Republican Party is in shambles! Due to much infighting, the county
Chairman, Mike Ennis, resigned. You may have read about the huge mess in the papers.
I plan on implementing my DREAD (Devoted Republicans Engage Against the Democrats) idea myself by running for county party Chairman and fill in for the rest of the term.

The MCRP is a very dull sword, and my mission is to sharpen the blade. Republicans are better than that. We will have the most important Presidential election in our nation's history, and Republicans can't afford to have a fractured party in a county of 840,000 people! The county motto was 'aggressive, visible, organized'. Now we're passive, invisible, and disorgaized. The Democrats are laughing at us because we can't get our act together. Happy birthday, Mr. President!

Today is President Barack Obama's 50th birthday. Yesterday, he celebrated with a huge fundraiser in which the top donors gave up to $35,800 each to be there. Of course, these are the same people whom the President loves to bash. He loves ripping on the rich as much as he loves ripping them off. With higher taxes, bloated govern-ment, skyrocketing deficits, and the threat of a credit downgrade, among other things, President Obama has made life miserable for all Americans.

He keeps delivering the same old line that the rich with their fancy private jets should be paying more. How much more can they give? The top one percent of income earners pay 40% of the taxes. And talk about fancy jets, they don't get any fancier than Air Force One. Fortunately, Obama will have to give up his jet on January 20th,
2013 at noon EST.

And with less than one hour to go in trading on Wall Street, the Dow Jones is down more than 300 points. Talk about a disappointing birthday gift. It's a far cry from the birthday song that Marilyn Monroe gave to President John Kennedy. So happy 50th birthday, Mr. President. I want to give you America's economy as my gift to you. I mean it is your economy now, isn't it?

An evening with Ann Coulter!

Last week, conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter toured Michigan to promote her new book Demonic. On Thursday she appeared at Petruzello's in Troy. About 400 people were there, and a great time was had by all, especially me. I sat near the front wearing my DREAD T-shirt. Coulter delivered her usual zingers at the liberals, including former Congressman Anthony Weiner and DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. After she finished her speech, she took questions from the audience.

I raised my hand and Coulter pointed to me. I first said that when I bought her book If Demo-
crats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans, I pointed out that the receipt read 'If Democrats Had Any Bra'. It's bad enough that liberals have no brains. Now they have no bras either. I guess it was the result of the feminist movement. Then I asked her why President Barack Obama would throw Israel under the bus while treating the President of China with a lavish state dinner
and reception at the White House. Ann talked about how Obama has been treating our allies like dirt while doing nothing to hinder our enemies.

After that, she had a book signing. She signed both of my books from her, the other being Treason. She liked the fact that my name is G.J. and wanted to know what it stood for. I had a great time. I just wish all of you could've been there, minus the liberals of course.

Help Ola Kaso from being deported!

On the front page of the May 25th edition of the Sterling Heights Sentry, a young woman named Ola Kaso and her mother, Violeta, will be deported to their native Albania on June 10th. Ola will graduate with a 4.4 GPA on June 9th from Warren Cousino High School. She was accepted into the pre-med program at the University of Michigan and wants to be a doctor. Violeta owns a bakery in Center Line. Everything was going fine for them until their original immigration attorneys failed to file their legal application for asylum. Now their lives are in limbo.

Violeta, Ola, and Ola's sister Nevila came to the United States in 1998. They have made America their home. Nevila married an American citizen and received a green card. Now Violeta and Ola are fighting for their lives. If you want to help them from being deported, you can log on to

My confrontation with Councilwoman Deanna Koski!

On April 13th, just after noon, I was at the Sterling Heights Public Library collecting signatures for Joe Judnick, who's running for the city council. Two other councilwomen, Deanna Koski and Yvonne Kniaz, were also there collecting their own signatures. I was talking to somebody about the tax and budget policies of the city council. After the coast cleared, Ms. Koski came up to me and told me to watch myself about talking about the issues. My heart was going 200 beats a minute at that moment. My blood pressure was through the roof. That old hag Koski had some nerve intimidating me like that. We went back and forth for about two minutes, and I stood my ground. About 20 minutes later, she actually gave me a timid apology. She said that she normally doesn't lose her temper, but she claimed that what I said hurt her. Well, excuse me, Councilwoman Koski! The truth hurts, doesn't it? The fact is that the current council has increased our taxes, accumulated millions of dollars in outstanding debt, and left the city with over $100 million in unfunded liabilities from pension and health care plans for Sterling Heights workers. And now that the council members are running for their political lives, they must resort to intimidating private citizens to shut them up. But I will not shut up and I will not go away! She actually admitted that she voted for Congresswoman Candice Miller to make herself look nonpartisan. I asked her if she voted for President Barack Obama, and she said no. When I pressed further, she said she voted for John McCain. I wonder what her fellow Democrats will think about that? So much for nonpartisanship. She certainly sounded very partisan when she confronted me without provocation! I was just talking to somebody about the issues. I never addressed any issues to her. I neither confronted nor complained about her voting record, although others did. But we have to look at the larger issue here. This is a symptom of a much larger problem. Politicians work for the people; it is not the other way around. For decades, conservatives and Tea Party Patriots like myself have been accused of starving children, kicking senoirs out of their homes, not giving unions workers enough pay, not giving health care to everybody, and so on. (I told this to Koski!) It's time to place the blame where it really belongs, to the people who will raise taxes and deficits and blame their victims for the demise that they caused themselves. Now I know a lot of you are thinking why I would make a big deal about an old woman who is barely half my size giving me a hard time. I'll tell you why. It's because this is not an isolated incident. In fact, this is the modus operandi for liberals. If you are familiar with Saul Alinsky's tactic of 'pick it, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it', you'll know exactly what I mean. And what the hell kind of a council is Mayor Richard Notte running when the council members try to intimidate citizens into submission? The Sterling Heights City Council is running the city to the ground. They should be held responsible for their actions. They have nobody to blame but themselves. I know that I'm not alone in this struggle. Millions of Americans are rising up because they are mad as hell and they're not going to take it anymore. As far as Deanna Koski is concerned, I'll accept her apology - when she and the rest of the tax-and-spend liberals on the council are defeated this November. I will not rest until they are. THE WORLD PREMIERE OF DREAD!

I'm finally putting my money where my mouth is. I'm finally taking the initiative by placing DREAD on the political map for all of America to see. I am holding the world premiere of DREAD at the Michigan C-PAC luncheon on March 26th in Holt, Michigan. In case you don't know, DREAD is the new acronym for Devoted Republicans Engage Against the Democrats. I am selling T-shirts at the event for $15 each. I hope that the attendees will buy them and spread the news that the Republican Party holds a brand new and aggressive attitude toward Democrats who want to destroy America by raising taxes, failing to drill for domestic oil, skyrocketing and monetizing the national debt, causing massive inflation and unemployment, ruthlessly implementing socialized medicine down our throats without even using a tongue depressor, and watching the Middle East go ablaze while doing nothing. Hypocrisy on the High Court!

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 8-1 in favor of the Westboro Baptist Church claiming it has the right to harass the families of dead American soldiers by holding up signs that read God hates dead soldiers and other offensive statements. Only Justice Samuel Alito ruled in favor of the family of Marine Cpl. Matthew Snider, who was killed defending our country. All the family wanted to do was bury him in peace, yet they received nothing but grief. While it is true that people have the right to free speech in this country, the first amendment is not a permission slip to say whatever you want. This isn't a case of free speech as much as it is a case about civility and good manners. This obscure and insignificant church just opened up the door for other organizations to spew vile and hateful speech regardless of how much it hurts its victims.

Yet when it comes to Christians wishing to openly profess their faith in God, judges seem all too eager to shut them up. Judges have ruled against:

Footfall teams wanting to say a prayer for victory before a game;
Students silently praying before class in school;
Class valedictorians thanking God for their gifts at a commencement address;
Organizations erecting a cross on a hill to honor war veterans;
Students reciting 'The Pledge of Alligiance' because it mentions God;
A judge wanting to place the Ten Commandments in a courthouse;
The phrase 'In God We Trust' on our currency, and so on.

Why is it alright for the Westboro Baptist Church to invoke God in such a hateful manner, yet praising God is absolutely prohibited? Since the Supreme Court says it's alright for this dumb church to use hateful speech under the banner of the first amendment, I think people should give them a taste of their own medicine and picket their church in protest of the Supreme Court ruling. If such methods are good enough for the Westboro Baptist Church, it should be more than good enough for those who want to condemn them.

What a bunch of meatheads!

I'd like to give you my take on the financial crises happening across the country and on the emotional meltdown of the Democratic Party. The federal government is $14.2 trillion in debt according to www.usdebtclock.org. Our states are in red ink because they overpromised on the salaries and benefits to public sector unions. The Middle East is on fire, which is leading to skyrocketing gas prices. The Federal Reserve is printing money to pay for the debt. Energy and food prices are going way up. Nobody can find any real jobs anymore. Other than that, every-thing is just fine and dandy.

America is at a critical crossroads. These next two years will determine what kind of a country we have and what kind of people we are. Republicans and Tea Party Patriots made tremendous strides in 2010, but the work is far from over. Now we have public-sector union workers going on strike and storming the capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin. They're upset over Governor Scott Walker's plan to increase the contributions the workers must make in their retirement and health care plans. Wisconsin has a $3.6 billion shortfall, and the only way the state can make up for that is by cutting spending.

It's really sad seeing thousands of grown ups (and I call them that because I'm generous) storming the capitol building and acting like its Woodstock in 1969. They're littering the building and preventing the legislators from doing their job. Our form of government is a republic, not a democracy. These workers have no right disturbing the peace and causing mayhem in a building where the representatives must do their work. These teachers who are going on strike are setting a horrible moral example to the children they teach. There were even doctors handing out sick slips in Madison to teachers to give them an excuse for skipping school. These teachers are not sick, but they are mental. Maybe that's why they needed the permission slips.

But this is not the worst part of the story. The 14 Democratic State Senators split town to Illnois more than two weeks ago to prevent the Senate from having a quorum and putting these bills up for a vote. The media praises them for being couragious, but they're nothing but cowards. Do they really think they can accomplish anything by going on strike along with the union workers?
The saddest part about this is that one of these senators is pregnant. Has she gone for her regular appointments? What does this woman's husband think about this? Are the other senators actually willing to sacrifice the health of a baby to promote their cause? (Don't answer that because the answer is yes.) These greedy Democrats care about nothing but themselves and their cause of socialism. And they are willing to do anything to accomplish their goals?

Americans can see right through these losers. Wisconsin was built on a strong work ethic, and this sorry demonstration demonstrates the opposite of that. These senators and union thugs have to learn a radical new concept called going to work for a living. Millions of Americans do it every day. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan fired the striking air traffic controllers because they were braking federal law. Now it is time for Governor Scott Walker to do the same with these union workers. There's already talk of Wisconsin laying off 1,500 workers if nothing gets done. Is this the legacy that the Democrats want to leave behind?

We all know that Green Bay is Titletown in the National Football League. I would love to see Vince Lombardi come back to life, storm into the capitol building where the striking Soviet Union thugs are causing chaos, and straighten them out. These union idiots are not cheeseheads. They are meatheads. It's time to recall the 14 Democratic State Senators and replace them with people who are actually willing to vote. Governor Walker needs to fire all of these striking union
workers like Reagan did 30 years ago. Wisconsin needs to send a clear message to the rest of the country that Republicans are as mad as hell and they aren't going to take it anymore.

Implementing DREAD!

Some of you are probably wondering why I call my blog the DREAD Blog. The DREAD stands for Devoted Republicans Engage Against the Democrats. I came up with this before the Tea Party movement kicked in a couple of years ago. This is actually based on an old idea from the 1970s when disco ruled the charts. Back then, a Detroit radio station (WRIF, 101.1 FM) created the DREAD card, the acronym for Detroit Rockers Engage in the Abolition of Disco. By the early 1980s, just when Ronald Reagan became President, disco disappeared. Thank God for that.

Last Friday, the Republican National Committee elected Reince Priebus as its Chairman. My goal is to work on the RNC staff to implement my DREAD strategy. I've contacted the RNC to show my interest. I also gave LegalZoom.com a sketch of my logo which would be the regi-stered trademark of DREAD. Priebus hopes to raise $400 million in the 2011-2012 election cycle to help defeat the Democrats. But I think DREAD can raise $1 billion to whip the Democrats into submission. For those of you reading this blog, I hope you donate to DREAD to help spread the cause of freedom. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Let's pray for Gabrielle Giffords!

I want to send my deepest thoughts and prayers for all of those who lost their lives or were wounded in the tragic shooting in Arizona on Saturday. It's really hard for me to express in words how sad and scared I am for this nation. I wish all the best for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords as she recovers from her bullet wound to her brain. Among the six people who died were a federal judge, a Congressional aide for Giffords, and a nine-year-old girl who wanted to learn more about politics. There are three thoughts that have been floating through my mind as I have watched the aftermath of the tragedy unfold. My intention is not to inject politics into this horrific crime, but just to give you my perspective.

Last Thursday, during the first full day of official business of the 112th Congress, the House of Representatives opened up its proceedings by reading the United States Constitution. House Speaker John Boehner started off by reading the Preamble. Then several other Democrats and Republicans followed. Congresswoman Giffords read the First Amendment which covers free speech. The press seems to think that was an eerie coincidence because she almost died at a gathering that allowed people to speak their minds in front of her. I think it would've been ten times as eerie if she read the Second Amendment, which gives us the right to keep and bear arms. Jered Loughner, the man who killed six people and wounded about 14 others, was a lone psychopath who was bent on creating as much chaos and tragedy as possible. He succeeded at the expense of the security of this nation.

The second thing that crossed my mind was how fast the medical personnel who responded to all of these victims and saved many lives, including that of Congresswoman Giffords. But let's say this took place five years into the future when Canadian-style universal health care would've been fully enforced. Do you think that the doctors and nurses who worked on the wounded would have been able to give these shooting victims the care they needed in the trauma unit? I don't want to speculate here. I'm also not trying to make this a political commentary even though the Democtats insisted on passing universal health care that would give trauma victims inferior care by having the government take over the system and letting bureaucrats decide who lives or dies.

The third thing that I thought about was how Jered Loughner was able to get a gun legally and go on his shooting rampage at all. I've been watching reports on Fox News and reading reports on foxnews.com. There should've been red flags going off all over the place with this guy. He's written a lot of disturbing things on the internet. He claims that 'The Communist Manifesto' is one of his favorite books. His neighbors have said he's an unstable man. He's a high school dropout who disrupted classes at Pima College. Even the college instructors warned about him.
Yet in this politically correct world we live in today, we're supposed to look the other way. What a shame.

The bottom line is that this never should've happened. Even as I feel the loss and pain that
these victims endured at the mind of a madman, I can't help but think that this could've been prevented.

Whose debt is it anyway?

As the Republicans get set to control the House of Representatives tomorrow, one key issue is going to dominate the headlines. This topic is the debt ceiling, which is currently set at $14.3 trillion. The current national debt just eclipsed the $14 trillion mark. This means that Washing-ton will max out its credit card in March. The Republicans are now between a rock and a hard place here. Do they raise the debt ceiling and give themselves more time to fix the mess with the deficits, or do they refuse to raise it and risk the federal goverment defaulting if the debt goes above the limit? This is an important question and a huge dilemma. But first let's think about what happened during the previous two years.

The actual debt went up about $3 trillion during the 111th Congress. The people in charge of the entire federal government were womb-to-tomb progressive liberal Democrats bent on destroy-ing America. That's God's honest truth. Please don't fall into the trap that the Republicans will agree to increase the actual debt if they agree to increase the debt ceiling. The Republicans may not have a choice in this matter because the debt is increasing at about $4 billion per day accor-ding to Fox News. They may not have time to fix everything long term unless they do something about the debt ceiling in the short term.

President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid set this up so beautifully for themselves. The timing couldn't be better for them. In order to increase the debt, they raised taxes and passed Obamacare. They bailed out the automobile industry, the banks, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They passed stimulus bills costing trillions of dollars.
They printed trillions of dollars courtesy of the Fed, diluting the value of the dollar. And they passed all this legislation using bribes and kickbacks to empower themselves. Obama will use this opportunity to blame House Republicans if the debt goes beyond the ceiling, causing America to default.

Before you blame Republicans for raising the debt ceiling if they have no choice, we need to blame the Democrats for getting us so close to that limit in the first place and make the Repub-
licans look like the bad guys for something they did themselves. Remember that a raise in the debt ceiling doesn't necessarily mean a raise in the debt. I think the Republican House should put the brakes on all this insane spending immediately. If it is inevitable that the debt ceiling will go beyond $14.3 trillion, the Republicans should raise it (to about $15 trillion) and come up with a plan to stop the waste in the long term. They should force President Obama to come to the table and have him agree to negate all of the spending bills that have put America into such a bind.

I hate these looming debts as much as any Tea Party Patriot, but we must deal with reality. Our national debt stands at $14 trillion, as does our Gross Domestic Product. It's very sad to see the wealthiest country in the history of the world be on its knees because our politicians can't control spending and corruption. If the Republicans need to increase the debt limit, I can live with that. If the Republicans refuse to control spending, I can't live with that!

Communism's last stand!

Last Saturday, there was a rally - and not much of one - that took place on the Washington Mall in our nation's capitol sponsored by One Nation. About 400 radical left-wing organizations took part in this pathetic display of socialism. The scene was chaotic. The passion was absent.
The momentum has disappeared for the Communists. And that's who these people were. Communists! Most of the speakers were just a bunch of left-wing loon idiots who have boarded on the Titanic waiting for the ship to sink. There were maybe 100,000 people there at the most, compared too about 500,000 at Glenn Beck's rally on August 28th.

This rally took place on my birthday, so this was the best present I could've recieved. These atheistic morons believe that freedom is free. But freedom must come with responsibility. After the rally, there were tons of garbage left on the Washington Mall. These people didn't even have the courtesy to clean up after themselves. These are the same people who preach to us about keeping the environment clean. Yet after the Tea Party rally last year and the Glenn Beck rally, there was almost no garbage. It seems like those who believe in God and country really do want to keep this planet clean and will lead by example.

This One Nation rally reminds me of that scene from 'The Ten Commandments' when Moses brought down God's laws only to witness his people breaking the laws that God wrote. As a result, those who disobeyed God were cast into hell. And the same will happen next month on election day. These Communists were just giving themselves a lot of false chest-thumping bravado when they know they're about to get creamed. This is Communism's last stand. It's just too bad that the Communists will never know that.

There's a group supporting Proposal 10-1!

There's a new group supporting Proposal 10-1 in Michigan. It is called Yes On Proposal One. It is chaired by three people: Tom George, Tim Kelly, and Dennis Lennox. These people believe as I do that Michigan is broken and a Constitutional Convention is the best way (and possibly the only way) to fix the mess. They make the same cases as I do that critics of Proposal 10-1 will say it will cost too much and let in radical special interest groups to dominate the convention. I was at a gathering sponsored by the Heritage Foundation of Southeast Michigan last night. The presentation was about how our future debts, particularly from entitlement programs (Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid) will eventually bankrupt this country. After the presentation, I talked to people about Proposal 10-1. Many people were open to the idea. Some just gave the same old critical talking points that the unions and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce are telling everybody else. I say this is a great time for Tea Party Patriots to show their true strength and dominate the convention. If the chamber, the Republicans, and the Tea Partiers combined their coalitions behind Proposal 10-1, freedom might have a better chance to succeed.

I find it absolutely amazing how this issue has recieved no national attention. Fox News has been covering the initiative to legalize medical marijuana out in California. Why the hell should any-body care about an issue that is so stupid? Proposal 10-1 in Michigan is literally 1 million times more important than getting high. I would hope that Fox News, being a fair and balanced net-work, would show the potential of this issue and how it would impact public policy in Michigan
for many years to come.

The Civil Rights Commission failed!

I want to alert you to a provision in the Michigan Constitution that many people overlooked, especially when it came to Proposal 2 in 2006 which banned affirmative action programs
in our colleges. Article V, Section 29 of the Michigan Constitution mandates the Civil Rights Commission. This provision was put into the 1963 Constitution and was one of the reasons why the 1961-62 Constitutional Convention took place. The Civil Rights Commission's duty is to
'investigate alleged discrimination against any person because of religion, race, color, or national origin in the enjoyment of the civil rights guaranteed by law and by this constitution, and to secure the equal protection of such civil rights without such discrimination.' (1) In 2006, former State Representative Leon Drolet and Jennifer Gratz led a grassroots movement to pass Proposal 2, which would ban affirmative action programs in our colleges that discriminated against whites because of their race. Black students were judged on an easier scale than whites,
making it more likely for them to be accepted into college.

While in high school, Jennifer Gratz applied to the University of Michigan but was turned down.
She had the grades, but didn't get in. She investigated the matter further and discovered that the university had built-in biases against whites. She teamed up with Drolet and successfully added an amendment to the Michigan Constitution that ended affirmative action programs in our colleges. I voted in favor of Proposal 2, and I'm glad it passed. But looking back, I wonder if it was worth all of the trouble.

During the 2006 campaign, millions of dollars were poured into this issue on both sides. The anti-Prop 2 people greatly outspent the pro-Prop 2 people by a wide margin. Nevertheless, the people voted for the measure 2,141,214 to 1,555,691. (2) But I was wondering why Jennifer Gratz couldn't have just filed a complaint with the Civil Rights Commission, which is already mandated in the Constitution. What's the use of having this commission when a state-sponsored institution (the University of Michigan) discriminated against whites on the basis of race? Why did Michiganders have to collect hundreds of thousands of signatures and get an amendment passed by the people when we already have a plethora of bureaucracies and laws in the books that protect the people from racial discrimination?

In addition to the Civil Rights Commission, we have the Department of Civil Rights. These people should've gotten to the bottom of Ms. Gratz's case, but they refused to act. It may be because Ms. Gratz is white and the bureaucracy could've cared less. We need some serious changes in the Michigan Constitution because government just doesn't work for the people anymore. The first thing we need to do is eliminate the Department of Education. At $15 billion a year, this department is a total waste of precious revenue. Our universities are saturated with a bunch of socialist professors and greedy union teachers. Let the local school boards control their own destiny. Allow our colleges to be sovereign governmental bodies. Then we should do away with the Civil Rights Commission and the Department of Civil Rights. Let a new Department of Justice enforce civil rights. I believe in civil rights laws, but we have to think about how the government enforces these laws!

I know people will label me as a racist, but nothing could be further from the truth. My goal in having less government is not to take everything away from the people, but to give everything back to the people. Since the 1960s, the government has destroyed blacks with welfare programs that trap them into poverty, an education system that teaches them nothing, and neighborhoods that are saturated with crime and drugs. The only way we can help blacks succeed in America is by scaling back the size and scope of government. Let's hope we can do it before it is too late.

Election day is only 49 days away. I want to give you the official language of what Proposal 10-1 (the question of a Constitutional Convention) would look like. I'm doing this so you would be clear about the ballot as you vote on November 2nd. Before I do, however, I want to tell you about an Email I received from Gene Clem, the spokesman for the Michigan Tea Party Alliance. I sent him my ideas of what a new Michigan Constitution would look like. He liked my ideas, and I thinked him for it. I hope I could inspire the MTPA to rally against the special interest groups - like the unions and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce - so regular citizens can dominate the convention.

The legacy of Ronald Reagan!

You know that liberal Democrats are fearing for their collective political lives by the way they continue to bash former Republican Presidents. They continue to bash George W. Bush for the current economy and Hurricane Katrina. Now they're ripping into Ronald Reagan as America prepares to celebrate his centennial birthday on February 6th, 2011. They love delivering their cheap shots to knock the Gipper down a peg or two. Even the liberal guests on Fox News get in on the action to destroy the reputation and record of the greatest President of the 20th century.

On Sean Hannity's show, Bob Beckel - the morbidly obese ex-alcoholic liberal brainless no-good blowhard - loves to give Reagan his jabbing insults every Monday on Hannity's 'Great American Panel' segment. He just loves to play the same old record that the liberals love to do. Beckel keeps talking about the unemployment rate back in 1982, which was in double digits. He also stresses Reagan's low approval rating in 1982. He and all of the other liberals want you to believe that the 1980s ended in 1982 without telling the truth about what happened between 1983 and 1989. For those of you who don't know, here's the scoop.

President Reagan cut the top marginal income tax rate from 70% to 28% while cutting taxes across the board. 20 million jobs were created in America during the 1980s, which was virtually the greatest economic boom in the country's history. Tax revenues jumped from about $500 billion in 1980 to about $1 trillion in 1990. By the end the decade, the top income earners paid a much greater percentage of the tax burden despite having their tax rates cut. Crime and drug abuse also went way down. The Berlin Wall fell on November 9th, 1989, leading to the collapse of the Soviet Empire. As for Reagan's popularity, he won his second term for President in 1984 against Walter Mondale by a score of 525-13 in the Electoral College. Can you guess who was Mondale's campaign manager in that campaign? It was that morbidly obese ex-alcoholic liberal brainless no-good blowhard himself, Bob Beckel. He also worked for President Jimmy Carter, the other Democrat whom Reagan pounded in 1980 to become President.

The difference between liberals and conservatives!

There's a huge difference between liberals and conservatives. Liberals leave huge messes. Con-servatives clean up their messes. Liberals talk about the environment as if it's their religion. Conservatives simply keep the environment clean. Al Gore et al huff and puff about the environ-mental Armageddon while flying around in their gas-guzzling private jets. Conservatives clean up their messes to prevent Armageddon.

If you need proof of this, compare the aftermath of President Barack Obama's inauguration to that of the Tea Party rally on September 12th, 2009. Both took place on the Washington Mall in our nation's capital city. After Obama's inauguration, Washington looked like a nuclear waste-land. Trash was everywhere, and there were tons of it. It looked like a garbage dump. After the Tea Party rally, Washington was sparkling clean. You couldn't find a gum wrapper or a plastic cup in sight. Even the birds were courteous enough not to make their droppings along the Wash-ington Mall that day. And that's the big difference. Liberals wait for the government to do every-thing. Conservatives take it upon themselves to get the job done.

Whenever a city wins a championship in sports, all hell always breaks loose. Thousands of drunken idiots take to the streets. They climb on street signs and lamp posts. They tip over cop cars. They break windows and steal televisions. They get arrested and spend the night in jail. And the worst part is that nobody dares wave an American flag. It would be nice to see some patriotism among all of the carnage. These fools are obviously liberals. Perhaps we should pass a law requiring only Tea Party Patriots to take to the streets when our teams win.

On August 28th, Glenn Beck from Fox News will host his "Restoring Honor" rally at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington to celebrate the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther
King's 'I Have a Dream' speech. Liberals will say that Beck is trying to hyjack King's legacy. I find that strange because many of Beck's critics want to destroy King's legacy. Say what you want about Glenn Beck. At least he won't tolerate trash of any kind at his rally.

Let's call for a CON-CON!

A lot has happened since Tuesday's primary in regards to my wish to have a Constitutional Convention (a CON-CON) in Michigan next year. I want to discuss the political side of this rather than the substance of a new Constitution itself. Many critics of a CON-CON have lost a lot of legitimacy with the voters, especially the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has lost a lot of credibility for three key reasons. It ran radio ads claiming that a CON-CON would cost up to $50 million, which is a false statement. A CON-CON will probably cost no more than $10 million. Of course, if Governor Jennifer Granholm were put in charge of the CON-CON, then it would cost $50 million. Thankfully, that won't happen. (Strike 1.)

The Chamber also endorsed Attorney General Mike Cox for Governor. This was a risky thing to do, especially during a primary election. Cox came in a distant third place in Tuesday's primary.
(Strike 2.) But the strangest thing is that the unions are not in favor of a CON-CON. When was the last time the Chamber ever sided with the unions on any issue? If anything else, the Chamber could demand a CON-CON so the delegation can insert a Right to Work provision in the Constitution. But it won't do that. (Strike 3!)

Rick Snyder won the Republican Party's nomination for Governor by appealing to Democrats and moderates while Pete Hoekstra, Mike Cox, and Mike Bouchard split the conservative vote.
Snyder even formed a group called Common Sense for Michigan in July to appeal to those who aren't conservative. (Source: Detroit Free Press.) He'll be going up against Democrat Virg Bernero, the Mayor of Lansing, who was dubbed 'The Angriest Mayor in America'. (Source:
Detroit Free Press.) It seems like conservatives and Tea Party people don't have very good choices in November. Perhaps the best thing freedom lovers in the Great Lakes State can do is demand a CON-CON and bring government back to within its means.

Reagan could've won three times!

As you know, I'm a huge admirer of President Ronald Reagan. I really miss his courage and leadership, especially with the country the way it's in right now. But yesterday a thought popped into my head that made me realize just how popular Reagan was as President. In 1980 and in 1984, he won in two of the biggest Electoral College landslides in history. Now I want to put his victories in a different context.

In 1980, Reagan beat President Jimmy Carter 489-49 in the Electoral College. In 1984, he
then crushed former Vice President Walter Mondale 525-13! Mondale won only the District of Columbia and Minnesota. This means that Reagan gathered 1,014 Electoral votes in just two elections. Now I want to spread this out just a little bit.

It takes 270 votes to be President. Reagan averaged 507 votes in his two elections. But if you divide 1,014 by three, you'd get 338. This means that Ronald Reagan would've won three land-slide elections in the Electoral College based on his vote total in only two elections. This shows you the power of Reagan's personality and popularity with the people. In the six elections since Reagan's departure, the average margin of victory has been much smaller in terms of popular votes and the Electoral College. If the Republican Party is to get back to greatness, it must bring back the 49-state landslides. This way there would be no contest regardless of how you look at the numbers.

Extend the Bush tax cuts!

I may not be the biggest supporter of President George W. Bush, but I thought he did the right thing by cutting taxes across the board. The problem now is that the tax cuts will expire on January 1st, 2011. What I don't understand is why he would agree to put sunset provisions on a bill that actually reduced taxes. Have you ever heard of a bill of any kind that will expire? There are thousands of laws passed annually. There are millions of pages of arcane regulations on every aspect of our lives. Since President Obama took office, we've had tax increases, bailouts,
stimulus bills, the health care bill, mounting debt, and so on. None of these bills have expiration dates. It's too bad that tax cuts are only temporary and bills that make the government rule us with an iron fist keep going strong for decades. It should be the other way around.

One example of the temporary tax cuts is the estate tax, also called the death tax. It's a tax on people's estates when they die. On July 13th, the morning of baseball's All Star Game, New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner died of a heart attack at the age of 80. The New York Yankees are worth at least $1 billion. In 2010, the estate tax went down to zero. Yet in 2011, the estate tax will go up to a staggering 55% with a $1,000,000 exemption. Had Steinbrenner died next year, his family would've paid at least $550 million to the government. Say what you want about George Steinbrenner. He wasn't a saint, but that doesn't entitle the government to wipe out the New York Yankees.

Now I know a lot of you will say that Steinbrenner was a greedy capitalist and he did some very controversial things as owner. I can't defend the man. He did pay somebody $40,000 to dig
up dirt on Dave Winfield. He fired a lot of managers and general managers and was tough on players. But I will defend his family's right to keep what they built. If the Steinbrenner family had to pay all that money to the government, hundreds of people's lives would've been severely impacted. Salaries would've been cut. Employees wouldn't be able to spend their own money to stimulate the economy. And down the line it goes. It's bad enough New York state and New York City, along with Washington, have so many other taxes in addition to the estate tax. But had Steinbrenner's death come at a different time, the Yankees would've been devastated.

There is absolutely no reason why the government should take anybody's wealth when that person dies, regardless of what that person is worth. It is not only anti-American, but also not
constitutional. Think about it. When you're dead, you don't have the right to vote, the right to speak, the right to bear arms, or the ability to do anything else. You're dead. Steve Forbes once said that there should be no taxation without respiration. We should extend the tax cuts and add to those tax cuts. It'll be the right thing to do. The original Yankee Stadium was the house that Babe Ruth built. Let's not make the death tax the tax that crushed the New York Yankees.

A Con-Con is relatively inexpensive!

Okay, now I'm back to the issue of a Constitution Convention in Michigan. The Michigan Chamber of Commerce claims that a CON-CON would cost up to $50 million. I believe this is absolutely false. The convention would most likely cost $10 million and it would call for many changes that Michigan needs quickly and effectively. Let me give you one specific example of the advantages of a CON-CON.

In 2006, Proposal 2 was on the ballot in Michigan that would ban the affirmative action program
in the admissions office at the University of Michigan. Although I agree with this proposal and was glad that it passed, the method upon which it had to pass was arduous at best. First of all, the supporters of the proposal, who were good friends of mine, had to collect over 300,000 valid signatures just to get it on the ballot. On the other hand, Proposal 10-1 (the CON-CON proposal)
will automatically be on the ballot, so there's no need to collect signatures. The other problem with Prop 2 was that special interests poured millions of dollars in advertising both for and against the proposal. Despite being heavily outspent, the supporters of Prop 2 were victorious because the measure passed. Even though people fear that special interests will influence a CON-CON, it's much easier for these special interests to sway the masses than they could sway 148 Constitutional Delegates.

It's also very frustrating to wait until election day to wait to vote on one more thing to add to the Michigan Constitution. And it can even be disappointing. Of the 67 Constitutional proposals that have been on the ballot since the people ratified the 1963 Constitution, only 31 passed. Thus,
the amendment process has a failure rate of over 50%. Why would the people even bother to approve a state constitution if they've had to bother voting on so many additional amendments to that same constitution? A CON-CON can bring up dozens of new ideas instantly without having to wait until election day. Half of all registered voters don't even bother to show up at the polls. A CON-CON would bring 148 dependable people who will meticulously look at every word of a new Constitution.

The costs of bringing up one proposal on the ballot - when you consider the signatures, the advertising, and everything else - would be about $5 million. And I'm being conservative. The cost of a CON-CON would be about $10 million, and it would be much more productive. Such a convention would do the work of about 100 amendments. This means that a CON-CON would do the equivalent of $500 million worth of work for $10 million. Now that is money well spent.

Let's stop complaining!

My goal this year is to convince enough people to vote YES on State Proposal 10-1 to call for a Constitutional Convention (a CON-CON) in Michigan next year. But it seems like the Republican Party is afraid that Marx, Lenin, and Alinsky will crawl out of their graves and dominate the convention. I want to assure people that if we elect conservatives to the convention, with me being President, ordinary people can design a Michigan Constitution that will serve the people better for many generations to come.

Lately, conservatives have been demanding that proposals be placed on the ballot to amend the Constitution. While these are noble causes, they can change everything much more efficiently with a CON-CON. The Tea Party organizers wanted to amend the Constitution to oppose the massive health care bill that President Obama signed into law. They needed at least 380,000 valid signatures to put it on the ballot this November. The organizers failed to collect even half of that amount. I told these people from the beginning that it would be better to call for a CON-CON, but they ignored me. I've been involved in politics for a long time. I knew it wouldn't work, and my instincts served me well. Prop 10-1 will be on the ballot, so no work needs to be done.

Now they want to amend the Constitution to say that we have the right to hunt and fish, to limit salaries for state workers, and to give people the option not to join a labor union in order to work. The amendment process would be very costly and frustrating. A CON-CON can deal with these issues and many more very quickly and inexpensively.

Of course, we can go too far demanding this right or that right. The system can easily be abused.
Any issue can rile up the masses for a short time, but logical minds must prevail. Let me give you an example. Let's say I wanted to amend the Constitution so that everybody would be entitled to a free pizza every Friday night. Well, who could possibly argue with that? I like pizza as much as anybody. I'm sure Mike Ilitch would capialize on that. We can just put it on the ballot by collecting the 380,000 signatures. Then the proposal will pass with 75% of the vote. Now we can all have free pizza.

But just because we can do this doesn't mean we should. Can't you see how silly this sounds after you get your mind off of melted cheese and a crunchy crust? The Michigan Constitution already has 36,000 words in it. Must we add more? My goal is to shrink the Constitution so we can shrink the government. Then we can have a better job market, more money, and the ability to buy all the pizza you want. That is how we should do it.

Somebody was looking out for me!

I spend most of my days at the Sterling Heights Public Library doing research on the Michigan Constitution and checking my Emails. I usually come in by 10:30 a.m. on most days. Yesterday was an exception because I had to look after my 11-year-old niece and 12-year-old nephew who are visiting here from Connecticut for a month this summer. My mom told me to look after them until my aunt could pick them up around 11. When my aunt came by at around 11:30, she told me of a very serious car accident that happened on the way there.

According to Macomb Daily staff writer Gordon Wilczynski, a man driving a white Pontiac Minivan was driving southbound on Dodge Park when a woman driving a blue Jeep Liberty ran a red light while driving westbound on Metro Parkway. The woman hit the man's minivan on the driver's side. Both vehicles ended up on the grassy island on the west side of Dodge Park. When I witnessed the aftermath of the accident myself later on, the Jeep was flipped on its side. The man was listed in critical condition while the woman was listed in serious condition. The accident occured around 10:20 a.m.

When I drive to the library every day, I take Metro Parkway westbound before I turn north on Dodge Park. I often make this drive at about the same time the accident happened. As it turned out, I arrived later than usual because I had to watch after my niece and nephew. At the time, I must admit that I was a little anxious to get to the library because I like doing my work on the Constitutional Convention. But I think God was looking out for me yesterday, and I thank Him for it.

Sometimes it's alright to be a little late because you never know what will happen from one moment to the next. I will do my best to argue why Michigan needs a CON-CON next year. Now I'm not saying that I would've been involved in that accident if I didn't have to babysit my niece and nephew, but maybe I would've witnessed it. Either way, it would've traumatized me. The moral of the story is that you never know when an inconvenience will become a blessing.

He betrayed his wife!

The granddaddy of environmentalists, former Vice President Al Gore, is getting a divorce from his wife Tipper after 40 years of marriage. At first I really didn't think this was such a big deal until I heard that Mr. Gore had an affair with Larry David's wife. David is known best for being the creator of 'Seinfeld'. Now Al Gore became warmly received by Hollywood upon making his documentary 'An Inconvenient Truth.' Many celebrities nearly injured themselves into a hospital kissing up to him. They showered him with an Oscar, a Nobel Prize, a Grammy, and praise unlike anything I've ever seen.

And then he gets caught having an affair with David's wife. Here is Al Gore warning us about global warming, but he sure kept himself hot under the sheets. He obviously couldn't curb his enthusiasm. He gives new meaning to 'onshore drilling'. And the Commandment 'Thou shalt not
commit adultery' is an inconvenient moral statement to Gore.

It just goes to show that these people who want to dictate how we should run every facet of our lives are just a bunch of arrogant hypocrites. I don't feel sorry for Al Gore one bit. Not for getting caught with his pants down. Not for losing the White House in 2000. He's just as big of a hoax
as global warming itself. Al Gore should give up his gas-guzzling planes and all of his gigantic properties and start living his life like the rest of us. And I hope Tipper Gore and the kids take
90% of his wealth in the divorce for being a royal pompous schmuck. Al Gore blamed President Bush for betraying America and playing on our fears after 9/11. But Al betrayed his wife and should be treated as the bloated idiot that he is.

Counting the days!

The horrific BP oil disaster in the Golf of Mexico has been going on for about 46 days now. As the number of days get bigger, the worse everybody looks. BP looks bad for causing the catastrophe,
although an investigation should be done to determine what happened. But President Barack Obama's administration is not doing much either. Whatever happened to the position of never letting a crisis go to waste? If there's ever a great opportunity to show outstanding leadership in a tough situation, this would be it. But the federal government is slow to react in something that is getting worse by the hour. Even James Carville, the original ragin' Cajun, is begging Obama to get down there and show some leadership. I rarely ever agree with Carville, but he's on target on this one.

Five years ago during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, everybody was piling the blame on President George W. Bush. But there was plenty of blame to go around back then. Everybody had at least five days of dire warning that a huge hurricane was going to hit New Orleans. The politicians should've rounded everybody in buses and ordered them to get out of the way. And the military was there almost from the beginning rescuing people stranded on the roofs of their homes. But everybody just couldn't wait to blame it all on Bush from the start. The mainstream media is finally talking about the slow response from Washington over a month after the oil disaster, but better late than never.

But now as the days of this disaster grow, one thing came to my mind. Do you remember the Iranian hostage crisis that started in 1979 and didn't end until January 20th, 1981 when Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President? That hostage crisis lasted 444 days. It was that growing number that destroyed President Jimmy Carter politically and in other ways. I think this oil disaster will hurt Obama in the same way that notorious hostage crisis weakened Carter. Obama
should take Rahm Emanuel's advice and take advantage of this crisis by doing something about it. This oil disaster is ruining America's economy, ecology, and environment. Washington needs to do something now.

Seat belt laws and the border!

Our government just can't get its priorities straight. Now that we're heading into Memorial Day weekend, the cops are out in full force stopping anybody who isn't wearing a seat belt. The catch phrase 'Click It Or Ticket' is designed to scare us into wearing our seat belts for fear that the government will nab us with a huge fine. We should be afraid of the laws of physics, not the rule of law. We'd be crazy by not buckling up ourselves or our children for fear that a crash could kill us, but not because the police will slap us with a huge fine.

And then there's the recent border security law that Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed to help its local cops enforce federal laws to guard against illegal aliens. Hispanic groups and liberal activists went nuts because they want you to think that anybody can be pulled over for any reason. But the law states that cops can't make you produce your papers unless you committed another violation. Some lawyers actually think that Arizona is violating the U.S. Constitution because it's up to only the federal government to guard the borders. But Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution states that 'Congress shall have the power to...establish a(n) uniform Rule of
Naturalization.' Naturalization means setting up uniform rules to help immigrants go on a pathway to citizenship. This is separate from border security, although the liberals will have
you believe that they mean the same thing. All 50 states have the power to protect their citizens.

Yet Article I, Section 8 also says that 'Congress shall have the power to...suppress Insurrections
and repel Invasions.' There are an estimated 12 million illegal aliens in America today. These aliens invaded our country. Granted, it was not an armed invasion, but they are syphoning off our time and money because they are taking advantage of our generosity. The costs of health care and education that these illegal aliens are taking from American taxpayers are several billions of dollars annually. Phoenix is the kidnapping capital of America thanks to drug traffickers and other criminals crossing the border daily. It's too bad Governor Brewer had to sign that bill because President Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress are not doing their Constitutional duty of protecting the American people against this invasion. Let's wake up before it is too late.

I have an idea. Let's eliminate these enforcement zones on the seat belt laws because they are a complete waste of precious law enforcement resources. Then we can place this manpower on the border protecting Americans. Just a thought.

The 4-9-3 strategy, part 4!

Under my plan for the judicial branch, electing judges will be a much simpler process. All justices and judges are currently elected on a rotating basis within any jurisdiction. For example, there are over 60 judges in the 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County, which means its residents must vote for over 20 of them every two years. My plan would call for all judges to be up for election or reelection at the same time during every mid-term election. This way it'll be much easier to pick the judges of your choice. I also reduced the terms for all judges to just four years so they will be held accountable to the voters more often. They will also be limited to two terms for each courtship and to only 24 years of combined experience in the courts to mandate a steady turn-over and allow new judges to serve the public.

I also require that all judges be placed on partisan ballots so you'll know exactly where they stand on the issues. Judges are practically politicians, anyway. Why should they hide in the non-partisan part of the ballot? There's no such thing as a non-partisan ballot because that is an oxy-
moron. This will also give them party support and name recognition. I also integrated the legislative and judicial districts so that the voting districts for the judges will be much smaller. This will make it much easier for voters to elect judges. Do you remember what the ballot for the city of Detroit looked like in 2006 in part two of my report? Well, this is how the new ballot would look like in Detroit in 2014 if the new Michigan Constitution adopted the 4-9-3 strategy:

Detroiters will have to vote for only eight judges every four years instead of over 100 of them every six years. And putting judges on partisan ballots gives voters real and clear choices. The ballots for electing judges will also be uniform throughout Michigan so all voters will have equal say in who will represent them. Now isn't this a simpler way to elect judges? There are many advantages to doing it this way. The districts are smaller so no one judge will have to hide with a huge group of other judges running in the same circuit. This is true especially in the Court of Appeals, in which each judge would have to reside in his own Senate district. Many appellate judges live in the same neighborhoods and can't relate to their constituents because they are so far removed from them. My plan requires that all 36 Appellate judges live in their unique State Senate Districts. And the four Associate Justices of the Supreme Court must live in each of the four appellate districts. I drew it up this way so that you will know who your judges are and can
contact them personally if you ever need their help. If local representation is good enough for the legislative branch, it's good enough for the judicial branch.

My system is also much simpler and reduces the number of total judges. I eliminate the four municipal courts in the Grosse Pointes because are they just self-serving cash cows that take hard-earned money away from the people. I also integrated the Probate Courts into the District Courts, which helps reduce the total number of judges in Michigan from 621 to 581. Eliminating 40 judges will cut the bureaucracy and make life easier for Michiganders.

I hope I have convinced at least some of you that having a new Michigan Constitution will make this state a much better place to live.

The 4-9-3 strategy, part 3!

Now I want to discuss how to make electing our legislators and judges easier. In the legislative branch, there are 38 State Senators and 110 State Representatives. What came to my mind was that this is nearly a 3:1 ratio. I simply reduced the numbers so that it would be official. My plan eliminates two Representatives and two Senators so that there will be 108 Representatives and 36 Senators. This will create a 3:1 ratio. But instead of apportionment boards acting indepen-dently of each other, I would place three State Representative districts in their entirety into one State Senate district.

Then I decided to go one step further by adopting the strategy of how Appellate Court districts are drawn. In the Michigan Constitution, the four Appellate Court districts are drawn along county lines to be as close in population as possible. Then I draw nine Senate districts in each Appellate district before placing three Representative districts in each Senate district. This is the 4-9-3 strategy. This system puts everything in order. Nothing is random or unpredictable.
It minimizes the chances of gerrymandering and demands that the districts be drawn to be as close in population as possible. By dividing Michigan into four quadrants first, those who draw the districts know that there is much less room for corruption.

Now how does this fit into the judicial districts? Easy. I have simply rearranged the judicial branch and its numbers so that its districts shall depend on the legislative boundaries. This is where the most profound change takes place. The Supreme Court will have only five justices instead of seven. The Chief Justice will be elected state-wide while the four Associate Justices
will be elected in their respective Appellate districts. Then each Court of Appeals will have nine judges instead of only seven. But the difference here is that all appellate judges would be elected along their Senate districts.

The Circuit and District Courts would also experience some major changes. There will be 36 Circuit Courts drawn along each Senate district. Each Circuit Court will be divided into three sections (A, B, and C) that are drawn along each Representative district. There will be two Circuit Court judges from each section. Then there will be 108 District Courts, one for each Representative district. And three judges will come from each district.

In all, there would be five Supreme Court justices, 36 Appellate Court judges, 216 Circuit Court judges, and 324 District judges for a grand total of five justices and 576 judges. This means that Michigan would have only 581 judges instead of 621, a reduction of 40 judges. In case you're wondering, my plan integrates the Probate and District Courts while abolishing the four muni-
cipal courts in the Grosse Pointes. This way there's less bureaucracy in the judicial branch.

I know this sounds like a bold agenda, and it is. But I believe in order and structure so that everything would be much easier to follow. The only way to put this plan into place is by deman-
ding a Constitutional Convention. In my next segment, I discuss how this plan would impact you personally.

The 4-9-3 strategy, part 2!

Now I want to delve into what the people of Detroit have to face every other year in picking their judges. There are judges from five kinds of courts that they have to elect. The justices of the Supreme Court are elected state-wide, and there are seven of them. The judges of the Court of Appeals are elected in their appellate districts, and there are seven of them. The 3rd Circuit Court represents all of Wayne County, and there are 61 judges in this particular circuit. The 36th District Court encompasses Detroit, and there are 31 judges from there. Finally, there are eight Probate Court judges from Wayne County. All of these judges are elected on a rotating basis, and they all serve six-year terms, except for Supreme Court justices who serve for eight years.

Now here's what Detroit voters had to face in the 2006 election in choosing their judges. Hold on to your seat. This will take a while. This is what their ballots looked like:

Now you're probably saying to yourself that you can't figure any of this out. That's okay. Nobody can figure this out. I love how they separate incumbent and non-incumbent positions. I also enjoy how they differentiate full-term and partial-term judges. (No wonder there's so much corruption in government.) In total, there were five different kinds of courts split into 11 distinct categories. Some of them were competitive, but most were not. Nobody knows anything about these judges, and most are given a free pass because of the way everything is set up. This is not representative government.

In total, the citizens of Detroit had to fill 46 vacancies, most of them with no competition, in the
judicial branch in 2006. If you stretch this out, this means that Detroiters must vote for over 100 judgeships every six years! This is way too much to ask for people to do, especially in a city that has faced more than its share of hardships. We need to change the way business is done in government.

So what is the solution? My plan, which I want implemented in the Constitutional Convention next year, will focus on how to organize the legislative and judicial branches so they will be dependent on each other. The 4-9-3 strategy will make voting for our representatives much easier. The next installment will provide the light at the end of the tunnel.

As you know, I'm in favor of State Proposal 10-1 in Michigan that would demand a Constitutional
Convention (aka a CON-CON) which would rewrite the state's Constitution next year. I know many people are scared that extreme liberals will take over the convention if one is called, but they already dominate our government already. We've been tolerating their big government agenda for a century now - complete with high taxes, bloated government, and huge deficits. I want conservatives to take advantage of this opportunity to roll back big government. One of
the most important ideas that I have is how we can change the way we elect our legislators and judges. This is something that I think too many Americans overlook, but it is something we need to examine. First, let me show you how our legislators and judges are elected.

The bicameral State Legislature is divided into a House of Representatives and a Senate. The House has 110 members elected to two-year terms who are limited to three terms. The Senate has 38 members elected to four-year terms who are limited to two terms. All legislators are elected on partisan ballots. Every ten years their districts are redrawn after each Census to adjust to the population shifts in Michigan. These districts are determined by apportionment boards that are independent of each other. I think most people know this already.

Then we come to the judicial branch, of which there are six different kinds of courts. The Su-preme Court has seven justices (one Chief Justice and six Associate Justices) who are nominated at their state conventions and elected by all of the people in Michigan. The Court of Appeals have four unique districts drawn along county lines that are equal as possible with respect to popula-
tion. Each Appellate Court has seven judges led by a chief judge. Then there are 57 Circuit Courts spread throughout the state along county lines. There are a total of 221 Circuit Court judges. There are 105 District Courts throughout the state drawn along either county or city lines. There are a total of 258 District Court judges. Then there are 78 Probate Courts spread along county lines, and there are 105 Probate Court judges. Finally, there are four municipal courts, each with one judge, in the Grosse Pointes.

All the judges are elected to six-year terms, except for the Supreme Court Justices (who have terms of eight years) and the municipal judges (who have terms of four years). All justices and judges are elected on a rotating basis, except for the municipal judges. There are no term limits on judges and they are placed on non-partisan ballots.

I know I just bored you into a coma with all of these numbers and facts. My goal was to let you know how confusing this is. In my next installment, I will show you how confusing it is to elect judges in the city of Detroit. You don't want to miss it, unless of course you're already in a coma.

Thank you, Ernie Harwell!

On Tuesday night, Ernie Harwell, the radio voice of Detroit Tiger baseball for 42 years, passed away in his home in Novi, Michigan. At the age of 92, he peacefully died of the cancer that he had suffered with for the past several months. Even though his millions of admirers across America knew this day would come, it is sad nevertheless. Everybody will miss him dearly.

The earth is a little darker now that Ernie is gone, but heaven is just that much brighter because he will spend eternity there. The thing that I remember most about him was that he never had an enemy in the world, and I envied him for that. As a political commentator, I have an enemies list a mile long and three feet thick. If you've ever read my blog, you'll see what I mean. He saw only the good in people because he saw only the best in people.

Now that Ernie is gone, there are so many ordinary people who have a plethora of wonderful stories to tell about him. He was simply the nicest and most giving person they ever knew. Even though he was a celebrity, he never let that go to his head. He made people feel at ease when he was around. Tiger legend Al Kaline said that Ernie Harwell was about as close to perfect as a person could be. When you hear all of these stories, you may think that those telling them are engaging in hyperbole. Of course, this happens with most people when they die. But that's not the way it is for Ernie Harwell. He was the real deal and the genuine article.

Ernie may be 'looong gone,' but his soul will not 'stand there like the house by the side of the road.' His spirit is secure in heaven, where he has met both God and Jesus. 'That's two for the price of one,' as Ernie would say. Right now he is announcing baseball games in heaven, where he is having the time of his life - or should I say afterlife. He was famous for playing a game in which
he claimed to know where fans lived after he witnessed them catching foul balls. For years I was amazed how he knew where those fans lived, as if he interviewed them before the game. Then I finally realized that he didn't really know where they lived. He just played that game to make Tiger fans feel connected to each other. I can only imagine how he would play this game while announcing a baseball game from heaven. If he did, he would probably say something like this:

'And Babe Ruth is at the plate with Cy Young pitching. Here's the one-one pitch. Ruth swings and fouls it off into the stands along the third-base line. And a Jewish carpenter from Jerusalem caught that one. It's amazing how he made that grab while baring a cross over his shoulder. Somebody give that man a contract!'

Ah, only Ernie Harwell could've delivered it like that. He was simply the greatest baseball announcer in history. I may sound biased on this one because I'm a Tiger fan, but I'm right on this one. I'm sure many people would agree with me.

Secure our borders!

It has been nearly ten years to the day when President Bill Clinton and Attorney Gereral Janet Reno ordered armed federal agents to storm a Florida house to snatch a six-year-old boy named Elian Gonzalez and sent him back to Castro's Cuba. The devastating impact of that action trau-
matized that child for life. His mother lost her life so that he could live free in America. But leave it up to the Democrats to snatch tyranny out of the jaws of liberty. Now let's think about what happened last week when Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed a bill into law that would tough-en the border between her state and Mexico. But now the crazy left has protested this new law. Let me clear a few things up so that even the radicals on the left can understand them.

This new law only enforces existing federal law. It really doesn't add anything new to the laws that are already on the books. Arizona is having a very difficult time with its border because the federal government (i.e. Congress and the President) won't do its job. These are not loving, law-abiding citizens coming to America. These are some very shady characters, including drug deal-ers and murderers. Phoenix is has become the crime capital of the country. It is second to Col-ombia in kidnapping and has a very high homicide rate. Ranchers are getting gunned down on their own property. Police officers and border patrol agents are getting shot at and killed. The people of Arizona are facing a security crisis. Arizonans have no choice but to fend for them-selves!

The thing that irks me the most is that all of the Latinos are playing the race card on this issue,
claiming that Republicans are targeting them just because of their race. Nothing could be fur-ther from the truth. The fact that they're all Latinos is beyond the control of Republicans. It's not our fault that radical terrorists are Muslim. That's just the way it is. It wasn't our fault that we had to kill Japanese soldiers after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. General George Patton had no choice but to kill Germans because Nazis were German. And General George Washington had to kill British Redcoats to gain America's independence. Americans are never prejudice because we love killing anybody who threatens freedom. Of course, times certainly have changed. Things aren't nearly as bad as they used to be. President Ronald Reagan won the Cold War without killing a single Soviet soldier. These Latinos are getting off very easy because none of them have been rounded up, shot, or killed.

And compare these protesters to the Tea Party Patriots who are revolting against a government that has raised taxes, skyrocketed the debt, and imposed socialized medicine on America. The Tea Party Patriots clean up their trash, don't get arrested, and don't throw bottled water at the police. {I find it ironic that Mexicans would throw away precious bottled water since you can't drink the water in Mexico.} If these people coming across the border were French instead of Mexican, I'd come after them twice as hard. I would never want the Corsican Mafia kidnapping or killing innocent people. We're all Americans. Let's remember that. If President Barack Obama would dedicate just 1% of the funding of his socialized medicine law to truly secure the border, we wouldn't have this problem.

As for protecting the border, I think Governor Brewer should appoint Janet Reno to head a special task force on securing the border and order her to round up every kidnapper, killer, and drug dealer in the same way that she grabbed Elian Gonzalez and sent him back to Cuba. That should solve the problem.

Megyn Kelly sold out!

On Tuesday, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, the host of America Now, appeared on Howard Stern's radio show. I have no idea why she would do such a shameless thing. She had no business being on such a filthy, vulgar show. I don't want to know about breast size, her pubic hair, her sex life, and who she'd like to screw or kill. I can't imagine why she would even think about pulling off such a crazy stunt. Did she think Howard was going to talk about the Supreme Court? Did she think she was going to expand her audience? Did Fox News CEO Roger Ailes approve of this? There was no reason for her to be there at all.

The worst part about all of this is that Megyn Kelly sold out on Fox News. Many of the network's anchors - like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck - have their own radio shows. But she instead chose Howard Stern. Megyn should've promoted her show and Fox News with help from more legitimate programs, but she blew a golden opportunity. And she just had a baby seven months ago. She obviously isn't a very good role model for going on Howard Stern's show. Megyn did nothing to promote Fox News or her program. She just let Howard Stern exploit her for pure profit.

I used to think Megyn Kelly was a great asset for Fox News. Now she's just a toxic asset. I'll still be watching Fox News, but I think Fox News CEO Roger Ailes should give her the boot. I know I won't be watching her again any time soon.

God is now here!

Last month there was a mission at my Catholic church, the St. Ephrem Church in Sterling Heights. Vince Ambrosetti - a famous singer, songwriter, and motivational speaker - led a 5-day mission with his songs and positive message about the power of God and Jesus. He has written over 350 songs, and Catholics hear many of them every Sunday at church. He has also released dozens of CDs and done over 500 missions in his career. He performed at the funeral for Mother Teresa of Calcutta and for the late Pope John Paul II.

Vince has a very large Italian Catholic family. He told many funny stories about his relatives. His songs are very moving and they inspire you to sing out loud. His messages are convincing but not overly preachy. I went to his mission all five days and loved every minute of it. I won't spoil it for you too much, but there is one story in particular that grabbed my attention. It was about a devout atheist who took his young son to an atheist rally. The son was just learning to speak and read. When the father and his son went to the rally, there was a giant sign that read 'GOD IS NOWHERE'. When the father asked his son what the sign said, he looked at it for the longest time and finally quipped 'God is now here.' Then the father finally got the message that God does exist. He quickly turned around with his son and never looked back. I guess God works in mysterious ways. I later told Vince my religious joke, which is 'I'm an atheist - thank God!'

The Tea Party Express!

Last Sunday, I attended the Tea Party Express rally in Clinton Township. About 2,000 patriotic Americans were there to gather and protest big government in our lives. I had a great time as did everybody else. I talked to a few people about the initiative in Michigan calling for a consti-
tutional amendment to protect the people of this state from Obamacare. In order for this to even be on the ballot, over 380,000 signatures must be signed on the appropriate ballots and certified by the Secretary of State by July. This is quite an undertaking. There is a much easier way to achieve this goal. State Proposal 10-1, which would call for a Constitutional Convention (aka a
CON-CON), will already be on the ballot. The Tea Party people can join the effort to approve Prop 10-1 and fight for so much more than just this initiative.

We must also remember that this is a Washington problem, not a Lansing problem. The goal is to throw out the members of Congress who did this to us. Attorney General Mike Cox is already fighting the legality of socialized medicine. We already pressured Congressman Bart Stupak into an early retirement. I loved it when he said that he was going to retire anyway and that the ad campaign to remove him from office was just a waste of money on the part of the Tea Party. Nice try, Bart! Do you really think we're that stupid? It was well worth the money to kick him out. Let's do the same with the rest of the sellouts.

There is nothing wrong with America that a good electoral cleansing can't cure. Let's throw
the corrupt politicians out of office. I'll be attending the MEDEFCO (Metro Detroit Freedom
Coalition) meeting on April 15th at 7 p.m. It'll be at the Barrister Gardens in St. Clair Shores on Harper north of Nine Mile. Five gubernatorial candidates will be there along with Frank Beckman of WJR 760 AM to talk about the future of Michigan. I'd like for you to be there as I will. I'll also be talking about my strategy to demand judicial reform that should be in the Constitution. I'll share it with you after the meeting.

Semper Fi!

On March 3rd, 2006, Marine Cpl. Matthew Snyder was killed in Iraq when his vehicle exploded. His father, Al Snyder, just wanted to bury his son in peace. But that never happened because members of the radical left-wing Westboro Baptist Church, led by Fred Phelps, harrassed Mr. Snyder and the Marines during Matthew's funeral by yelling obscenities and holding signs like 'Thank God for dead soldiers.' Al Snyder sued the church for harrassment and won his case. The settlement was originally for $11 million, although it was later reduced to $5 million. Then the
4th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the ruling and forced Mr. Snyder to pay the legal fees of the church costing $16,510.80. Is there any justice in this world for a grieving father? On legal grounds, people may argue that it was totally within the right of the church to yell and harass under the 1st Amendment and that Mr. Snyder was late in filing his paperwork with the 4th Circuit. (His lawyers may have been at fault on this one.) But let's use some compassion and common sense in this case.

The left wants to make you think that the hate speech is completely covered in the 1st Amend-
ment as far as the church is concerned, but nothing can be further from the truth. Here is what the 1st amendment reads: 'Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.' Everybody knows what it says rhetorically, but people misinterpret what it doesn't say. It doesn't say that we can do or say anything we damn well please. There are rules and limitations in our society, like the Ten Commandments.

The loony members of the Westboro Baptist Church were not assembling peacefully while pro-testing the actions of government, although you could argue that they were from a certain point of view. Cpl. Snyder worked for the Marine Corps, which is part of the military and the federal government. Those church members really weren't protesting a war. They were an unruly mob who verbally terrorized a brokenhearted father who just wanted to bury his son. They yelled 'Semper fag' and other mean phrases in order to add insult to injury. Al Snyder just wanted to bury his son in peace. He never sought any trouble from anybody. The Westboro Baptist Church was aggressive, cruel, and mean. It's bad enough that Al Snyder had to bury
his son. Now he has to deal with an overturned case and legal fees. What a joke!

Some may think that there's no difference between the actions of the Westboro Baptist Church and those of the millions of Tea Party protesters objecting to the federal government's takeover of the private health care industry. But there's a world of difference between patriotic citizens who are worried about a tyrannical federal goverment taking over our lives in an unconstitu-tional manner and a man who just wanted to bury his son who died defending America. And that's the other thing that drives me up a wall here. Matthew Snyder died so that radical mem-bers of the Westboro Baptist Church can be free to say what they want. But instead of paying tribute to a fallen hero, they yelled obscenities and defamed the memory of his death. The actions of that 'church' were utterly unconscionable.

What would Reagan do?

Today is a day that will live in infamy. President Franklin D. Roosevelt uttered those words after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Yet today President Barack Obama signed the socialized medicine bill into law. This infamous piece of legislation will create unbelievable damage to the country
in terms of higher taxes, more government, and less freedom. For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am ashamed to call myself an American. If there was ever an appropriate time to yell out 'G-D America', it's today.

But as we are on the verge of celebrating the centennial birthday of President Ronald Reagan, let's think about what he would do in this situation. Reagan would never have proposed this bill in the first place because he knew the constitutional limits of government unlike so many of our politicians today. He also would never have pushed the bill through Congress in such a haphaz-ard fashion. He wouldn't have ignored the millions of patriotic Americans in the rallies and the town hall meetings demanding less government. He never would've bribed members of the House with a worthless executive order promising that no public funds would be used for abortions. He never would've offered sweetheart deals like the Cornhusker Kickback, the Louisiana Purchase, or the tax exemptions on the Cadillac insurance plans for unions. I could
go on and on, but you get my drift.

It was so shameful watching the Democrats celebrating the destruction of freedom at the White House signing ceremony. They looked liked a bunch of rowdy football fans witnessing their team winning the Super Bowl. It looked more like a funeral with the festive atmosphere of a wedding.
It's so sad to see tyranny greeted with applause. Many Democrats are going to experience their political deaths in November, but they are marking the occasion seven months early. In a way, I'm glad that Americans could see this so they can finally wake up and see what unapologetic socialists these people really are.

Now if Reagan were President and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) sent him that notorious bill for him to sign, he would've done something extra special for his veto. Reagan would've burned the entire bill in a fireplace, collected the ashes in an urn, and sent the urn back to Pelosi with a note reading 'sorry, Madam Speaker. You're not the Nancy I know and love!' Now that is change we can all believe in.

Shame on the Democrats!

The Democrats have completely sold out on the American people. Last night, the House of Representatives voted for socialized medicine 219-212. All of the Republicans and 34 Democrats voted against the bill. The bill will be sent to the Senate for final approval before President Barack Obama signs it into law. This bill will pay for health care in part by slashing $500 billion from Medicare. Of course, Medicare is a social program with tens of trillions of dollars in unfunded liabilities. (Check out www.usdebtclock.org to see this yourself.) But there was a time when the Democrats falsely accused the Republicans of doing this for political gain. Let me give you a brief history lesson on this.

When the Republicans took over the Congress in 1995, my former Congressman, David Bonior, led the charge that the Republicans were cutting Medicare by $270 billion. Of course, this was a cruel accounting trick because the Republicans were only cutting the rate of growth in the pro-gram. They were not actually cutting the program. But that didn't stop the Democrats from spreading this lie to vulnerable seniors who depend on government in their old age. I caught Bonior doing this.

In the summer of 1995, I attended a town hall meeting that included Bonior and a few local politicians talking to seniors about this lie. There were about 50 people in the room. They were all seniors with gray hair except for me. I was 26 at the time. After Bonior and company got
finished with the presentation, they went to the audience to answer questions. Now let me remind you that these seniors were most likely brought in by Bonior's people, which explained
why the crowd was very homogeneous. He wasn't expecting anybody to be the fly in the oint-ment, so I was happy to oblige. I raised my hand and Bonior acknowledged me. I told him that the Republicans were in fact raising Medicare spending, just not at the rate that the Democrats wanted to. I asked him why he would accuse the Republicans of doing something they
never did. Bonior responded by saying that the Republicans weren't keeping up with the
expenditures of the program!

He never denied my charge, but he wanted to make it sound like he was still correct. After that, senoirs got a little more agitated at Bonior. This proves that I was a Tea Party protester 14 years before it became trendy. But two things still annoy me about this. The first is that the Republicans were never going to cut Medicare back in 1995. They just wanted to make sure that Medicare would last longer. The other thing is that the Democrats will actually slash $500 billion from the program to give coverage to 32 million more Americans. This will ration care and give the government total control over who receives what kind of medical care. This has been the intention of liberals all along.

But where has the media been on this all this time? I'm just an ordinary guy. I'm not a reporter.
I'm just a concerned citizen. Anybody from the press could've been at that meeting to ask Bonior the same question I asked him. And where is the media today while the Democrats do real cuts in this exect same program? This simply represents corruption on the part of the politicians and apathy on the part of the media. Now if David Bonior tried to do the same thing today, about 1,000 people would've swarmed that meeting to demand answers that the madia won't ask. Shame on the Democrats! They'll pay a huge price in November.

NOT PRETTY IN PINK!

I'm really starting to get sick and tired of all this attention on breast cancer. We've all seen professional football players wearing pink in October for the occasion, which makes them look like a bunch of overgrown metrosexual girly men. Just when I thought the situation couldn't
get worse, this next example really took the cake. I first witnessed this video on Greta VanSusteren's show on Fox News. It shows a bunch of hospital workers from Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon donning pink scrubs and dancing around like a bunch of drunken fools to raise awareness for breast cancer. There's only one word that appropriately describes this shameless video: gay! It was absolutely, positively, and totally gay. If Liberace and Richard Simmons had a baby together, it couldn't be more gay than this stupid display of idiocy. It looked like disco gone bad. (Redundant!) We don't need to bring more attention to this disease. We raise more attention to breast cancer than we do for the economy or the conflict formerly known as the War on Terror. I'm a huge admirer of Ronald Reagan, but I'd be scared to death if researchers from a neurology clinic conducted a spastic dance to raise awareness for Alzheimer's Disease.

More than anything else, this video is insulting to those who actually have breast cancer. The people in that video thought they were helping those with the disease, but they only brought notoriety to themselves. This is not a parade, a dance, a game, or a three-ring circus. This is serious because these gestures do nothing to help those dying of breast cancer. Treating the sick should be a private and personal matter. Former Detroit Lion linebacker Chris Spielman lost his wife to breast cancer last month. Stephanie Spielman was only 42 when she died. I don't think Chris would want his wife's memory to be reduced to a silly song-and-dance routine. This was simply a shameless exhibition. They did not look pretty in pink. They were just totally gay.

(I used some sarcastic hyperbole in this piece. While it is not meant to offend anybody, I felt I needed to use it to get the point across.)

The name is Salahi, Tareq Salahi.

On November 24th, a Virginia couple named Tareq and Michaele Salahi crashed the state dinner at the White House. Although I don't know everything that happened, they apparently went through the White House and Secret Service checkpoints and had their pictures taken with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, and many others. They also crashed a Congressional Black Caucus dinner in September. Michaele aspires to be on 'The Real Housewives of DC'. Many people are pondering whether they should be charged with a crime. But I would like this power couple to be put to good use for the country.

In the eight years since the 9/11 tragedy, America has been unable to capture or kill Usama bin Laden. President Obama has committed 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan in the hopes of doing at least something against the Taliban. But in order to get bin Laden, I would implement a new strategy. I think the CIA should train the Salahis to be spies so they can infiltrate Al Qaeda.
If the Salahis can get past Secret Service security during a state dinner at the White House, they can certainly find bin Laden in a cave. We don't need General Patton leading a huge army. All we need are a couple of spies who can get in and out of the toughest places without being detected.

We can even make a Bond movie out of this and call it The Man in the Golden Cave. Tareq Salahi can play James Bond and Michaele can be his Bond girl. They can play this cat-and-mouse spy game with the terrorists, get in and out of near-death situations, and then kill bin Laden in dramatic fashion. Of course, it won't have everything in a typical Bond movie. There won't be any vodka martinis because Muslims don't drink alcohol. There won't be any fancy hotels in the mountains of Afghanistan. Tareq would even have to seduce his own wife to make the movie interesting, which never really happens in Hollywood. Nevertheless, it would be a huge hit with audiences. There's no need to put the Salahis in jail. Let's put their talents to good use. I'm sure the Salahis would leave the terrorists shaken, but not stirred. To be serious, this is a sad breach of security. The Salahis failed to show up at a House conference meeting to get to the bottom of the issue. Now they'll have to be issued a subpoena.

Win one for Stephanie!

I've stated on my blog before about my protest against the National Football League wearing pink during October to raise awareness of breast cancer. But this doesn't mean that I'm apothetic to the situation. Last Thursday, Stephanie Spielman, wife of former Detroit Lion linebacker Chris Spielman, lost her life to breast cancer at the tender age of 42. I want to extend only my deepest sympathies to her friends and loved ones. As the Lions prepare to play their annual Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers tomorrow, I would like the team to dedicate the game to Stephanie. And I won't mind seeing the team wear pink to pay tribute to her. In the meantime, I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. And please give thanks for all we have.

Keep talking, Sarah!

Sarah Palin's new book, Going Rogue, has become the most popular new book around. It is already number one on the New York Times list and will reach 1 million in sales very soon. But one thing that has struck me as funny is that a lot of people are still trying to destroy her. But I think Sarah Palin will get the last laugh. She's hitting all of the talk shows to promote her book. She recently went on Oprah Winfrey's show. Then less than one week later, Oprah announced on her show that she will call it quits in 2011 after 25 years of hosting her show. Wait. I see a pattern here. Sarah Palin goes on Oprah's show, and Oprah calls it quits. I think it's because she realizes that the man she supported for President, Barack Obama, is tanking in the polls and that Palin is poised to beat him in 2012. Now that's something for Oprah to cry about.

On the other hand, Palin talked to Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Greta Van Susteran on Fox News, and their shows are still going strong. Sarah Palin should go on all the shows hosted by liberals because then they will be calling it quits just like Oprah did. She should go on Larry King and even David Letterman so they will retire in shame. Then she can go on every show on MSNBC so the entire network can fold like a cheap tent. It would be a perfect strategy on her way to a landslide victory in three years. Keep talking, Sarah. You have powers you don't know exist.

And when President Palin takes office in 2013, I'd love for her to do the obligatory pardoning
of that one turkey on Thanksgiving on the condition that the one that gets spared will have to watch all of his friends get killed and eaten. That way the new President can give the lone surviving turkey greater appreciation for living and a tremendous guilt complex. And nobody will have to serve a turkey to Palin. She can kill, skin, and cook it herself. So eat that turkey on Thanksgiving. I'm sure it will taste delicious.

I'm sure you get the joke in all of this. Chuck is one tough man. I've come up with some of my own. Check them out and see if you like them:

Now on to a serious topic. The U.S. Senate is working today to bring the issue of the Senate health care bill up to the floor of the Senate. The Democrats need 60 votes to bring the issue up for debate. If they succeed, their health care bill will pass. Then the issue will go to the joint committee so that the House and Senate can iron out the differences. I hope for the best, but I fear the worst. Contact your Senators today and tell them not to vote for socialized medicine. But if they do, I'm sure Chuck Norris would like to straighten them out. He is one tough man.

Fighting for a new Constitution!

I've been involved in politics for 13 years now. While I believe conservatism is certainly on the rise among the masses, it has yet to create an impact in the halls of government. While I could fight for candidates and issues like I've been doing all along, my goal for next year will be more focused and personal. My objective for 2010 is to call for a Constitutional Convention for Michi-gan in 2010. The stakes cannot be higher. Washington is spending trillions of dollars it doesn't have. Michigan was recently ranked as one of the 10 worst state governments in America thanks to Governor Jennifer Granholm and her liberal cronies. There have been several nicknames for her over the years: Jenny G.; Jennifer Gramcracker; Barbie; Jihad Jennifer; Canadian Trash! I'm sure you could come up with some of your own. But regardless of what you call her, you have to call our situation hopeless unless we change course.

The question of a constitutional convention will come up next year. I've been working on my own ideas for a new constitution and a new course for Michigan. We can do so much to make Michi-gan better. Among the many improvements I've come up with are: a slight reduction in state legislators; a huge reduction in the number of departments in the executive branch; strict new limits on taxation and spending; term limits on judges, local officials, and even members of Congress. Our Founding Fathers created a Constitution in 1787 to create a national government that was strong enough to keep the states protected in case of dangers from foreign enemies, was limited enough to grant the states local powers, yet compassionate enough to preserve God-
given rights to the people. This system of government has kept us free for well over 200 years, but now our politicians want to take our rights and our money away through socialized medi-cine, the bailouts, cap and trade, and everything else. It's time that we put an end to this non-sense. I'm going to be dedicating my blog to arguing my perspective as to why we need a new state constitution. James Madison, the father of the Constitution, effectively argued the need
for an American Constitution with 'The Federalist Papers.' Now I want to do the same for Michigan.

Move over, Dr. Jack Kevorkian!

Last Thursday, an Army psychiatrist, Major Malik Hasan (whom hereafter shall be referred to as 'Radical Muslim Terrorist' or RMT) killed 13 soldiers and wounded 30 others at Fort Hood in Texas. There's this huge argument between whether or not this man simply snapped or if this was an act of terror. I believe this was an act of terror and he didn't just snap. He planned this for a long time and he wanted to wipe out as many soldiers as he could. Even the terrorist groups praised what he did. But I have my own perspective on this and I want to see if you can follow me on this one.

President Barack Obama's big agenda item is universal health care for all Americans. Two days after the massacre at Fort Hood, the U.S. House of Representatives passed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's universal health care bill, H.R. 3962. Now RMT was an Army psychiatrist, which means he was a medical doctor working for the federal government. This means that if universal health care becomes law, we can expect more doctors like RMT gunning down sick patients.
I know this may seem like a stretch, but was it just a coincidence that the House Democrats started cheering wildly after the bill was passed? Why settle for death panels when you can have firing squads that are much more efficient? And where was Congressman Alan Grayson in all of this? You'd think he would be against what RMT just did. He scolded Republicans for wanting Americans to die quickly, yet RMT wiped out 13 of our bravest soldiers at home. I wish Grayson would be a man and speak up against what RMT did.

But this was not only an act of terror, but also a crime of opportunity. Soldiers at Fort Hood are prohibited from carrying firearms on the base. What a minute. Let me get this straight. You mean to tell me that our soldiers do not have the right to keep and bear arms? Our soldiers defend our constitutional rights, especially the second amendment. The National Rifle Association should be up in arms over this, no pun intended. If our soldiers don't have the right to defend themselves, then any of us can be denied that right also. RMT knew that and he took advantage of our weakness. And so was the case with what happened on September 11th, 2001.
19 RMTs hijacked four planes loaded with unarmed passengers. The rest is history.

I just hope America will wake up before She is history. We need to prevent this from happening again. We need to arm ourselves with facts and with guns if we are to remain safe and sound. We need to change protocol to allow our soldiers, who are trained to kill our enemies with guns, to bear arms to protect themselves and this great country. It's only common sense. If I can figure this out, anybody can. Let's give up this politically correct nonsense and call this what it is,
an act of terror. If we can at least do this, then perhaps we can prevent massacres like this in the future. More over, Dr. Jack Kevorkian! There's a new Dr. Death!

{P.S. I realize that this commentary may sound controversial to those who are sensitive to my kind of straight talk. And maybe there really isn't a direct link to what happened at Fort Hood and the government's push to take over our health care system. But would you be surprised if there was?}

Madam Speaker, tear down this wall!

Today is the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 1987, President Ronald Reagan
delivered his prophetic 'tear down this wall' speech. Yet today, instead of defeating Communism,
our government is promoting it. On Saturday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed House Bill 3962 by a vote of 220-215. This is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) notorious socialized medicine bill. This will cost taxpayers well over $1 trillion in its first ten years starting in 2013.

But don't think that all Democrats went along with this. 39 Democrats voted against the bill, and only one Republican, Joseph Cao of Louisiana, voted for it. Now President Barack Obama can claim this was a bipartisan effort. The Democrats won two special House elections on Tuesday, one in California and one in New York. If Republicans had won those seats and voted against the bill along with Cao, the bill would've been defeated! The bill also has the Bart Stupak (D-MI) amendment, which prohibits public funding for abortions. It passed 240-176, with 64 Democrats voting for it and John Shaddegg (R-AZ) voting present. Now the bill goes to the Senate. I don't know what will happen there, but the bill has a long way to go until it becomes law.

The House of Representatives did something that was not American and not constitutional. Pelosi bragged about passing the bill, but she could barely hold her own coalition together. In a legislative body in which the Democrats hold a 258-177 advantage, the bill passed by five little votes. The Democrats are erecting walls in an era when socialism is on the rise in America. 20 years ago, America could brag about crushing the Soviet Empire. Now we are creating the American Empire. There you will see the horrible numbers our economy faces, including a national debt of $12 trillion and over $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities in our entitlement programs. HR 3962 will make those numbers grow higher with no end in sight.

This is nothing to brag about. Madam Speaker, tear down this wall!

I HAVE HAD IT!

On Tuesday I did some campaigning for David Magliulo who is running for Mayor of Sterling Heights. While passing out some literature to this one man, he criticized me for driving a foreign car. I knew he was bad news from the moment I saw him. He had this eternal ticked off look about him. When he mentioned about the car I drive, I told him that I'm sorry he felt that way and left. This has been going on for a while now. I think people are catching on to who I am and what I believe in. There were two other instances when union guys intimidated me (although indirectly) for driving a foreign car. The first came last year while I was running for the Charter Commission in the summer of 2008. Some guy placed a union bumper sticker on the back of my car. Then last winter, somebody placed a piece of paper saying 'buy American' on my front windshield. Okay, I get it! You want me to buy American. Now I hope to give my side of the story just to let you know that I'm not such a bad guy.

My car is a 1991 Toyota Celica with over 180,000 miles on it. It gets me to where I need to go, but I didn't buy it. My mother handed it down to me after she bought a Chrysler. This car is the first foreign car I've had. My first car was a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am. This proves that I have bought American. But my current car is all I have, and I'm flat broke just like everybody else. My car is all I have to my name, and I'm stuck with it.

But why should I buy an American car to begin with? Two out of 'The Big 3' are owned by the government, and we all know the horrific track record the government has in running and ruining everything like the Post Office, welfare, entitlement programs, education, and so on. And the other car company owns a football team, the Detroit Lions, that has lost 29 of its last 31 games. If I'm going to buy a new car, I'd like to see better performance than this. But this has nothing to do with just buying American. It has to do with union control. The unions run 'The Big 3.' And when we buy American cars, the unions take a lot of that money. And 99% of all political contributions from the unions go to the Democratic Party. In other words, you are making a de facto contribution to socialism when you buy American cars.

I hate being cajoled into buying something. If you Soviet Union thugs want me to buy American,
earn my trust! I have the right to make choices as an American because it is the American way.
Besides, the Democrats don't want us to drill for oil here in America. It would be pointless to buy an American car if I can't put American fuel in that car. I want to be inspired to buy American products, and you Soviet Union thugs are failing miserably in that category. And I don't want you to come anywhere near my car. It is mine. You don't inspire. You just intimidate. But I don't cave in to that. If just one person would come up to me and say, 'Mr. LaRouche, I would love for you to buy American cars because they are the best in the world. And we won't use your pay-
ments to advance a socialist agenda,' I might consider it. But for now, consider me a frustrated customer. 'Nuf said!

Vive la France, I think!

There's been a lot of Latino pride going on in America today. Latinos make up a huge voting block and are the backbone of the amnesty movement. They have their own constituency in our popular culture, including award shows and a huge party at the White House earlier this month.
President Barack Obama apponited the first Latina to the U.S. Supreme Court. They seem to be everywhere. It's true that Latino countries dominate Central and South America, but the official language in most of them is Spanish. This means that they all stem from one European country, Spain. The Latino race even has its own category on applications. But the Latino race is really just a European nationality, not a separate race like black, white, or yellow. It's just being sold as a race. Because of the amnesty issue, the Latino culture has become the politically correct European nationality disguised as a race. Latino pride is everywhere, but God forbid if the other European countries tried to show their own pride like the Spanish have. Let me give you some examples:

Can't have Irish pride. They're a bunch of fighting drunks.
Can't have British pride. They're snobby.
Can't have French pride. They're obnoxious.
Can't have Swedish pride. They're a bunch of dumb blondes.
Can't have Italian pride. They're a bunch of gangsters.
Can't have German pride. They're a bunch of Nazis.
Can't have Polish pride. They're stupid.
Can't have Swiss pride. They're a bunch of neutral wimps.
Can't have Russian pride. They're a bunch of vodka-drinking Commies. (True!)
Can't have Greek pride. Their weddings are too big and fat.

There. I just offended everybody on the planet, including those of my French heritage. But why can't we have French pride like we have Latino pride? America wouldn't exist if it weren't for France. France helped the American colonies defeat the British empire to help us gain our independence from the royal crown. In 1804, France sold the Louisiana Purchase to America, doubling the size of this mighty country. France gave America the Statue of Liberty, her flame greeting millions of immigrants to make this country what it is. Of course, France hasn't shown us a lot of gratitude lately, even though we saved them from oppression three times in the 20th century. I understand that Mexico has had huge problems with corruption and drugs, but Canada has universal health care and is very cold. But you don't see two million Canadians running south of the border illegally every year yelling 'vive la France!' The only Canadians coming to America are those that need emergency medical care that Canada can't do with its universal health care program.

I watched a little bit of the Latin celebration at the White House earlier this month, complete with all of the singers and actors showing off their pride. The entire Obama family was there singing and dancing without a care in the world, as if Mr. Obama has nothing to worry about with our pitiful economy and our troops dying in Afghanistan. It's a shame that such pride should be limited to only a small group of people. Let's show some American pride that celebrates the richness and diversity of all the people. In the meantime, vive la France. Sort of.

The NFL takes a pass on Rush!

Last night, the group that took an interest in purchasing the St. Louis Rams of the National Foot-
ball League dropped Rush Limbaugh as a potential limited partner in the deal, citing that the recent controversy of Limbaugh's racist comments has complicated the ordeal. Dave Checketts,
owner of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and Chairman of SCP Worldwide, which put in the bid to buy the Rams, dumped Limbaugh like uranium-235. It is really sad when a man who has done so much for talk radio, America, and conservatism can be treated so viciously. Yet the racist con-
troversy is merely a diversion into the real issue; Rush Limbaugh is an true conservative who believes in the American spirit. The comment he made in 2003 about people wanting Donavan McNabb to succeed because he's black, while being a provacative statement, doesn't make Rush a racist and certainly shouldn't deny him the ability to be a limited partner for an NFL team.

It is a real shame that the NFL won't let a great American put millions of his own dollars on the line to promote capitalism in a time when government takeovers in every industry are ruining the economy. His money is green, so let him invest it. We need more investments in America. And do you really think that anything Rush has done makes him more controversial than a lot of
other sports owners out there? Is Rush more troublesome than Al Davis or George Steinbren-ner? Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban, a spoiled crybaby if there ever was one, has been fined multiple times for confronting officials on the basketball court. He also financed a movie called 'Redacted' that trashed our brave soldiers fighting in the War on Terror. Besides, how can you trust a guy named Cuban to begin with? Limbaugh would be a limited partner, meaning that he can't make personnel decisions. So nobody would even have to worry about him deciding on who gets to play for the Rams.

Michael Vick is allowed to play in the NFL again after he tortured and slaughtered many dogs just for fun and sport. If we're going to go down this road, the next thing you know O.J. Simpson will be let out of prison after President Barack Obama pardons him and will be allowed to be a commentator. Speaking of Simpson, I think the NFL should erase his memory from football by removing his name from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Goodell could've done the right thing here by telling everybody to back off on Rush Limbaugh, but he didn't do that. Goodell is letting the prestige of the NFL slip through his fingers, and I have no respect for him at all.

This is not the National Football League that I knew growing up. The game once stood for excellence, goodness, and patriotism. But that's all changing. Like I said before, the NFL should at least pay tribute to President Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday on Super Bowl XLV. Yet I doubt that the league will do even that much. In the meantime, Limbaugh should make a bid to buy the Detroit Lions. I'm sure they could use some improvement.

The Messiah has his cup!

This morning, America has learned that President Barack Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize. This officially confirms that Obama is now the Messiah because he just received his Holy Grail! Now all of his admirers can drink the wine (or is that Kool-Aid?) from his chalice and experience eternal life. Next thing you know children will be singing songs to celebrate their annointed one. After Jimmy Carter and Al Gore, Obama is a natural choice for the Nobel Committee to receive its Peace Prize. He has led America into an economic tailspin with massive spending programs, bailouts, and the printing of money. Countries will soon reject the American dollar as a means of purchasing oil. Unemployment is now in double digits. Health care legislation
could bankrupt the country. Obama is hesitant on sending more troops to win the war in Afghanistan. President Carter was responsible for creating the Misery Index, which won him
his Nobel Peace Prize. Now Obama has won the prize for creating a whole new category for America: the Catastrophe Index. Mathematicians from all other the world will have to create new formulas for how bad things are going to get under the Catastrophe Index.

Even though the nominating committees for the Nobel Prizes are in Norway, I'm absolutely convinced that these committees are saturated with dumb blondes from nearby Sweden. How else can you explain how the same Nobel Peace Prize can be awarded to Mother Teresa of a different era to President Obama today? Let me give you my analysis of how dumb Swedish blondes are. Swedish blondes are so dumb:
1) they think pro bono is a law requiring Sonny and Cher to get back together. Of course, they
will never reunite because Sonny is in heaven;
2) they think an ambulance chaser is a stiff drink;
3) they filed a class action lawsuit against Hollywood claiming that the movie 'Legally Blonde'
was based on their life story. As a further testiment to their stupidity, they won the case.

So you can see why conservatives like me get frustrated that the Nobel Committee never awarded the Peace Prize to Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, or Pope John Paul II. Yet in a way, the dumb blondes may have done America a favor. If they really wanted to help Obama win a second term, they should've awarded the prize to him in 2012, just before he was up for reelection. Obama claimed his Holy Grail so early that he has nowhere to go but down from this moment forward. So could dumb blondes be responsible for Obama's downfall? Yes they could.

Congratulations to Rio!

I would like to congratulate the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for being the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics. As you know, Rio beat out Chicago, Madrid, and Tokyo to get the games. But it is sad to see Chicagoans and other liberals getting so sore about not getting the bid. Politicians even blamed the image left behind by former President George W. Bush for the snub. I'm surprised White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel didn't send the International Olympic Committee a dead fish. All the heads of state of the countries in the finals made a personal pitch for their home teams, including President Barack Obama. What was funny was that the entire media thought this was in the bag for Chicago. But not only did Chicago not get the gold, it couldn't even get the bronze.

In a way, I'm glad Chicago didn't get the games. It would've been a logistical and financial night-
mare for the city. If you've ever been there, you'd know that traffic is really bad, and not just during rush hour. The city government is saturated with corruption and cronyism. Yet here is President Obama doing something against his own instinct in order to convince the IOC to host the games in Chicago; he had to say something nice about America. During the first eight months of his Presidency, he has apologized for America's past sins and has insisted that his own country
is responsible for all the ills of the world. Whether it's pollution, imperialism, or aggogance, Obama claims that America can't do a darn thing right. He has never given credit to America's
role in making the world a richer, freer, more prosperous place to be. And now that his buddies were on the verge of making huge bucks off the Olympics, Obama did a one-eighty to try to sell America as a great country.

And while America is on the verge of an economic collapse, Obama wasted an entire day to board Air Force One and waste tons of fuel, time, energy, and money to speak favorably on behalf of America for once. But the trip wasn't a complete waste of time. He did speak to General Stanley
McChrystal, the commander of American forces in Afghanistan, about the war in that region of the world. But this came only after we learned that he had talked to McChrystal once in 70 days about the situation. McChrystal warned the President that we need 40,000 more troops or else
the war will be lost. Obama already lost the Olympics, the economy, the country, and faith in Americans. Why would we expect anything different out of him with our national security? But let's keep one thing in mind. Regardless of how much the Democrats mess everything up, it'll always be Bush's fault.

I was rooting for Rio to get the Olympics from the beginning. This is the first Olympics, summer or winter, to be held anywhere in South America. America has held many Olympiads in the past. Give a new country a shot. The Olympics is about the world, not just America. By the way, the announcement of the Rio de Janiero games came last Friday, which just happened to be my birthday. I do look a little old for 21 (give or take 20 years), but I do the best I can.

The NFL is suffering from a Code Red!

The National Football League has officially flown the coup for the past couple of years. October is breast cancer awareness month. This past weekend, all of the NFL players wore pink on their uniforms to let the whole world know that even large macho men can be pink on the inside. Call me macho and old-fashioned, but this whole breast cancer stuff has gone overboard. The real problem here is that political pressure is emasculating the male species. Football is a manly sport. It should be about the game and the game only. And all of this really serves no practical purpose whatsoever. It does nothing to actually discover a cure for any cancer. And all this pink makes it look like the players are paying homage to the radical anti-war group Code Pink. It just makes big men look silly.

Now I'm not trying to make light of the disease or be insensitive here. All cancers are devasta-ting. Cancer patients go through tremendous pain. But I am saying that the NFL is an inappro-
priate vehicle to raise awareness for breast cancer. And what is behind the obsession with women's breasts besides the obvious, anyway? Don't any women feel uncomfortable with all this attention drawn to them? Breasts are very personal parts of a woman's anatomy. I'd feel much more comfortable if we didn't discuss the matter at all. How would men feel if the NFL players starting wearing black to raise awareness of prostate cancer? Again, it would be a very private issue. I don't know how the players feel about this personally, but I wouldn't want them to be labeled as uncaring grunts if they agreed with me on this. If players want to fight for causes that are personal to them with their own money, more power to them. But charity should be a personal endeavor. It would be much more appropriate if the WNBA took up this cause instead.
In the meantime, let men be men.

In the meantime, I'm lobbying the NFL to pay tribute to President Ronald Reagan, who would
have turned 100-years-old on the same day of Super Bowl XLV - Sunday, February 6th, 2011.
If the NFL is willing to bring back Michael Vick, I think the least it can do is pay homage to a great American President for one glorious moment.

Let's demand a new state constitution!

Michigan has a very important election coming up next year. Up for grabs will be the entire leadership of Michigan's government - state-wide seats, legislative seats, judicial positions,
and many local seats. The real reason 2010 will be pivotal is because this will be a Census year. The state legislature will control the district lines. The party in power will also control taxes, spending priorities, and other key topics. But I think the people of Michigan should demand a new constitutional convention in 2010. With the Tea Party movement in full swing, we can do this.

If you've never actually read the Michigan State Constitution, I suggest you do so. It really is an interesting read. It has literally hundreds of sections dictating how our state government must operate, ranging from tax policies to spending and bureaucratic priorities. It gives a lot of power to the government. I think the time is right for this. According to Article XII, Section 3 of the State Constitution, the people of Michigan may demand a general revision of the constitution starting in 1978 and every 16th year afterward. In 1978 and in 1994, Michiganders rejected the notion of a constitutional convention. In 2010, the people may once again demand for a new constitution, one that does a better job in extending the rights of the people and limiting the size, scope, and power of the state government. With the economy in the tank as it is, we can and must do this.

On a lighter note, I want to wish a very happy birthday to Jack LaLanne, fitness guru to himself.
(That's a joke!) He turned 95 on September 26th. Unfortunately for Jack, he has now reached
middle age, so it's all downhill from now on. I'm going to be 41 this Friday. And when I pass away
from this earth many years from now, I hope Jack will perform my eulogy.

Obama bashes America again!

Yesterday I was watching the pathetic gathering of world leaders at the United Nations Head-
quarters in New York City. Every despot, dictator, thug, mass murderer, and crook converged there to bash the host nation. President Barack Obama spoke in front of the assembly, and the bad guys couldn't get enough of how he bashed his own country. From climate change to nuclear
disarmament, Obama used the bully pulpit of the UN to knock down the US. I won't get into
great detail about who was there or what they said. But as I watched these 'leaders' blocking traffic and wasting time and space in NYC, the more I believe these guys looked like the Specter
Organization from the James Bond movies. Dr. No and Goldfinger would fit right in.

Obama finally had his chance to criticize President George W. Bush's War on Terror, slam America's willingness to pollute the planet, and insist on our need to eliminate all nuclear weapons. Obama is negotiating on a position of weakness as he downsizes our military and cripples our economy. He has bashed America abroad. Now he bashed America on his home turf in front of murderous world leaders. Obama has absolutely no shame. And the reason is simple: President Obama hates America! I do not say this lightly, but rather with a heavy heart. I wish I didn't have to say it, but I believe it is true. Obama never mentions America's greatness, but rather apologizes for Her mistakes. True, America isn't perfect. The problem is that liberals like Obama et al are ruining this country. America has become flawed because of liberals. So if America is not perfect, they have only themselves to blame. We need to realize that before they destroy this country.

I, however, need to end my commentary on a positive note. Fox News anchorwoman Megyn Kelly gave birth to her baby boy. Edward Yates Brunt was born around 10:00 a.m. this morning at seven pounds, ten ounces. Megyn is the wife of Doug Brunt.

Turn the water on!

I was watching 'Hannity' Thursday night. Sean Hannity's show airs at 9 p.m. weekdays on the Fox News Channel. Sean was on location in California with thousands of farmers complaining about the federal government's decision to turn the water off on their crops. The extreme envi-
ronmentalists in the Obama administration did this because some two-inch smelt fish was on the Endangered Species List. They thought that turning the water off would save the fish. All they are doing is hurting the farmers. That region of central California grows a huge percentage of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other crops that feed America and the world.

On the show, comedian and activist Paul Rodriguez talked to Sean about the plight of the farmers. They are suffering from 40% unemployment, parched land, and no crops. And the farmers have to stand in line for food. Wait a minute. There's something wrong here. I thought farmers were supposed to feed people and enjoy the fruits of their labor, but this is not the case. Because of lower supplies, food prices are going to go way up. More people will be out of work. Food will have to be imported from foreign countries like China. Worst of all, the farmers can't make a living and contribute to the tax base. This is why our economy is going down and our deficits are spiraling out of control. Back during America's founding, most people were farmers.
Farming is one of America's greatest professions. Many of our Founding Fathers were farmers. That's what they did. Today, our Founding Fathers are turning over in their graves.

It has been only eight months since President Barack Obama took office. He has done more damage to this country than probably any President in history. What he is doing to these farmers in California is just one example out of many on how he has ruined America. I hope the Tea Party movement gains momentum for another three years so we can throw these bums out.
As for as helping the farmers out, I have a perfect solution. Let's put homo sapiens on the Endangered Species List. That way we can save ourselves.

Let's reprimand Kanye West!

Yesterday, the House of Representatives reprimanded Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) of saying 'you lie' during President Barack Obama's address to Congress on socialized medicine. (Let's call it what it is!) Wilson was responding to Obama's claim that illegal aliens wouldn't be covered under his plan. Everybody will admit that it was inappropriate for Wilson to disrupt the President's speech, but let's give this some perspective. The Republicans wanted to add amend-
ments to H.R. 3200 that would prohibit coverage to illegal aliens, but the Democrats shot them all down. Wilson also apologized to the President, who accepted the apology. But the Democrats in the House couldn't help themselves. They had to waste an hour of precious floor time to repri- mand a member who already apologized for his actions. The liberal press have been labeling this incident as being racist. They couldn't be more wrong. Nevermind the fact that Democrats will destroy the reputations of decent black conservatives like Condoleezza Rice and Clarence Thomas. In the eyes of the liberal media, Democrats are not capable of racism despite the fact that Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) was a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Now let's flash forward to the MTV Video Music Awards show last Sunday night. When 19-year-old country star Taylor Swift won the award for best female music video, she got up on stage to accept it. Then out of nowhere, rapper Kanye West stormed the stage, grabbed the microphone out of Taylor's hand, and started ranting on how Beyonce's video should've won the award. How does this compare to what Congressman Wilson did? Did Wilson storm Obama's podium to take away his precious teleprompter? Did Wilson go on a tirade on how socialized medicine was bad?
Of course not! Nevermind the fact that West and Beyonce are black and Taylor Swift is white.
The liberal press would never think of this as a racist incident even though it wasn't. I think MTV should reprimand Kanye West from ever appearing on the VMA show ever again. He's done stupid things like this before. If a reprimand is good enough for a two-word rebuke, it should be good enough for Kanye West's outrageous stunt.

Medicine is a personal responsibility.

President Barack Obama made his 'State of Socialized Medicine' address Wednesday night. But
I don't want to drag on and on about the details of the plan like whether there will be a public option, death panels, or coverage for illegal aliens. Obama wants us to think that if Americans
will put their faith in government to provide for socialized medicine, they will experience social utopia by living forever. All of us will experience a catastrophic health event by tomorrow, so we need the government to ensure us by today. This is totally ridiculous! I have news for all of you. It will come as a shock, so brace yourselves. All of us will die someday. I know it sounds impos-sible to believe, but it's true. Government cannot prevent the inevitable. God will take us one day. Obama is doing this to consolidate raw power. But don't think all of the blame lies only with the Democrats. In 2003, President George W. Bush signed the Medicare Prescription Drug Bill into law. We already have huge liabilities coming from that. I have a much better health care plan than that. It doesn't involve government. It is the Personal Responsibility for Good Health Bill. Here are some basic provisions:

Don't smoke! You'll get lung cancer and heart disease;
Don't drink so much booze! You'll kill brain cells and destroy your liver;
Eat fruits and vegetables! They'll give you energy and strengthen your immune system;
Drink plenty of water! It'll flush your toxins out of your body;
Drink tea! It'll speed your metabolism and help you defy big government;
Don't make love to strangers! You'll get STDs;
Eat lean meat! You'll grow big and strong;
Stay away from refined sugar and fatty foods! You'll get obese;
Do aerobic exercises! You'll increase your endurance;
Lift weights! You'll get strong and punch liberals to the ground;
Be kind to others! They'll return the favor;
Get eight hours of sleep every night! It'll refresh you for the next day;
Go to church! It's good for your soul;

I know I sound like an old-fashioned fuddy-duddy, but I'm a conservative. While nobody is perfect and bad things will happen, claiming responsibility for our own health will make us
accountable for our actions, lower the costs of health care, and help us lead longer, healthier lives. Now that's a plan we can all live with.

Today also marks the eighth anniversary of the tragedy of September 11th, 2001. The airwaves will be saturated with memorials all day. I just want to send a simple prayer for America and hope we never have to experience another day like that again.

Barackopolis part 2? I don't think so!

As of today, President Barack Obama has appointed over 30 czars. The most famous one of them was Green Jobs Czar Van Jones, who recently resigned Sunday morning due to all of his controversial comments and intentions coming to light. I looked up the word czar yesterday in my dictionary. Czar means a ruler or a tyrant, like somebody who has control over others. I don't even know where to begin with all these czars, but they range from the Green Jobs Czar to the Regulatory Czar, the Science Czar, the Great Lakes Czar, the Car Czar, the Pay Czar, and on and on the list goes. They receive very little scrutiny from the White House and are not getting advice and consent approval from the Senate. This means that Obama is bypassing constitution-al authority by creating an executive oligarchy, meaning that a few people within the White House dictate public policy.

Tonight, President Obama will make his speech in front of a joint session of Congress and America asking for approval of H.R. 3200, the socialized medicine bill. Oh, he'll make it sound much more benign then his real intentions, just like yesterday's address to America's children. But forget the fact that this is socialized medicine for a minute. Why would he ask Congress to approve universal health care while he consolidated power for himself by skipping Senate
confirmation for his czars? Even Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), a very liberal Democrat, is critical of Obama concentrating power for his personal gain. I think Obama will destroy any chance of credibility tonight in front of Congress and the American people, but for different reasons. Americans don't want rationed care and higher taxes. Congress doesn't want to be left out of the loop while Obama exercises excessive executive power. But even if H.R. 3200 goes down in flames, what would prevent Obama from appointing a Health Care Czar?

Obama wants to create the aura of last year's acceptance speech in Denver. Back then, he was at his apex before he controlled anything. But what a difference a year makes. Now he's on the verge of controlling everything. Let's hope the American people will stop him before it's too late.

Don't let this drag on too long!

Like the majority of Americans, I am against H.R. 3200, the bill about socialized medicine. It will cost trillions of dollars, ration care, and leave doctors high and dry. If you want an example of how socialized medicine will ruin America, think about the 'Cash for Clunkers' program. First of all, that's a degrading name for people like me who must depend on old cars. The way the pro-gram works is that you can receive up to $4,500 when you trade in your old car to a dealership and purchase a new car. That sounds like a bargain, but there's more to the story. The dealers have to fill out an application that's 20 pages long on each clunker. Talk about paperwork. Then the government will give the dealers the money within a week. The problem is that the gov-ernment is not compensating the dealers for the clunkers. I've been watching Fox News. Many dealers have complained that at least 90% of the money they were promised hasn't been given to them. Why all the delays? It's because the government by its very nature is slow to respond to anything. If they can't deliver promptly with cars, imagine how bureaucrats will screw up our health care.

Let me give you an example of this with our health care. Imagine we had socialized medicine and the government set up a program called 'Money for Babies'. The program will compensate ob/gyns $1,000 for every baby they deliver. If an ob/gyn delivers 300 babies a year, he should receive $300,000 from the government. But in reality, let's say that the doctor has to fill out a form 20 pages long for each baby and deliver it to the government to get paid. But the gov-ernment can set its own strict rules. If the doctor doesn't fill the form out completely, or makes a spelling mistake, or doesn't fill it out in time, the government might hold back on payment. This would result in a huge black market in the health care industry. Patients will receive inferior care in places that are totally inadequate. It would create total chaos.

Saul Alinsky, the grandfather of radical activism and the author of 'Rules for Radicals', said that anything that drags on too long becomes a drag. The ball is in President Barack Obama's court. He'll be speaking in front of a joint session of Congress next week to push his health care plan. If I were advising him, I would tell him that if the Democrats can't pass universal health care in
September because it would cause a huge backlash with Americans, then he should drop this like uranium-235. Then he should wait to pick this up again in 2011 with a new Congress after the dust settles. There is such a thing as trying too hard. Sometimes it's better to change strategies
to prevent further damage.

America should acquire VSP!

We've all heard of ESP, also known as extra sensory perception. This gives you the ability predict the future and avoid catastrophies. But I think America should acquire VSP in 2012. VSP is the acronym for Victory for Sarah Palin. We've all seen what a disaster President Barack Obama has been with everything from higher taxes, spending binges, a shrinking economy, a government takeover of everything, the degrading of our national security, and so many other things. And you didn't need ESP to figure this out. All you had to do was apply some common sense and conduct your own research on Mr. Obama and his people.

I discovered one organization that is predicting total doom for our planet very shortly. It is called
the Institute for Human Continuity. This organization predicts that a world-wide catastrophe, like a giant meteor, will wipe out the earth and all human beings on December 21st, 2012. IHC
claims that the only way to survive this certain doom is to register with its organization so you can have a ticket to go into a shelter just before disaster strikes. Yet I know that disaster will strike on this particular day, but not from a meteor. If President Obama wins a second term in 2012, that will mean disaster for America and the whole human race. There's only one way to prevent this disaster, and it's not by joining crazy liberals in meteor shelters. If Americans unite
behind Sarah Palin and elect her as the 45th President of the United States in 2012, all will be

The state of the NFL!

Football season is coming soon. This is my favorite time of year. I love everything about football - the passion, the strategy, the rivalries, the aggression, and even the cheerleaders. But I do have a beef with Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision to reinstate quarterback Michael Vick, who was just picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles. Vick was convicted of and imprisoned for his dog-fighting operation that led to the torture and deaths of many dogs. Vick spent 18 months in prison and had his football fortune evaporated. The Eagles are now giving him a new lease on life,
but Philadelphia may not be the City of Brotherly Love for Vick. While I believe in forgiveness and redemption, Goodell never should've reinstated Vick. But not for the reason you may think.

Vick committed a heinous crime against man's best friend. This sends the wrong message. But the real reason I don't want him back is because I literally fear for Vick's safety. Football fans will boo him like the plague. Opposing players could take cheap shots at him, even at the risk of fines and suspensions. I don't even know if his new teammates - especially the offensive linemen - will want to play with him. Vick carries the kind of baggage that nobody wants to lift. Not even the Raiders picked him up. He could've remained anonymous by playing in the Canadian Football League like Doug Flutie did. But why would Vick even want to go back to the same league knowing how notorious he is? I guess that's a riddle I can't figure out.

Speaking of riddles, here's a brain twister for you. If the New York Giants faced the New York Jets at the New Jersey Meadowlands, which team is the home team? Both teams call that place home. If you know the answer, drop me a line.

My take on socialized medicine!

Those who know me know that I'm very much against the socialized medicine bill, HR 3200. People can point to 'death panels', long waiting lines, or what little doctors will be compensated for their services. But it isn't the bill itself that bugs me as much as the way socialized medicine proponents try to demonize those who are against it. They're bussing in union people to disrupt authentic resistance by ordinary Americans who hate seeing the government take over every aspect of their lives. The liberals are calling protesters Nazis, racists, and tea baggers. They're also using tactics of Saul Alinsky to destroy the characters of the protesters.

Now President Barack Obama recently held a teleconference to contact religious leaders to garner support from the religious left to push for HR 3200. (Wait. I hear a peculiar sound. It's the pot calling the kettle black.) The Democrats are always accusing the Republicans of gathering support from the religious right because they've gotten support from Pat Robertson and the late Jerry Falwell. They accuse the conservatives of not respecting a woman's right to choose. The Catholic Church is very much against abortion. Yet it was Obama who voted three times to deny health care to babies who survived a botched abortion while serving in the Illinois State Senate.
Government has no right or authority to run our health care system. Health care is a commod-ity, not a right. If Jesus came down to earth right now, he would be against HR 3200 as much as I am. He would never want tax dollars paying for abortions or death panels. He would be against higher taxes and spending on a plan that is doomed to fail. Jesus was the great physician. He cured those with demons, leprosy, blindness, and deafness. He didn't need a government bur-

While I was watching The O'Reilly Factor on Thursday night, I witnessed a report by Sophia Elena, who is an intern for CNN. She did a report on protesters in California, both against and
in favor of the health care reform bill (HR 3200). She noticed that those who were against socialized medicine had homemade signs, while those who were in favor of socialized medicine carried manufactured signs. Ah, there's nothing like homemade! The point Ms. Elena was trying to make was that the people who are against socialism are creating an authentic movement to take their country back, while those who relish socialism are part of a very well organized move-
ment and want the government to control every aspect of our lives.

Jesse Ventura is a nobody!

I wish people would stop trying to destroy former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The latest to pile on this particular bandwagon was Jesse Ventura, who claimed that Palin is a quitter for resigning Sunday. Ventura said that Palin would never make it as a Navy Seal or a frogman because Seals don't quit. First of all, it is shameful for any veteran to condemn a woman who supports our military as much as Sarah Palin has, especially since her oldest son is serving overseas. And second, we shouldn't call him Jesse 'The Body' Ventura. From now on, he is Jesse
'The Nobody' Ventura. For Ventura to call Palin a quitter is like the pot calling the kettle black. Let me explain.

Ventura was a Navy Seal from 1970 to 1973 and served in Vietnam. I thank him for his service, but he did eventually quit the Seals. He then went to a community college, but quit after one year. Okay, let me get this straight. He's tough enough to be a Navy Seal, but he couldn't make it through a community college? Gimme a break, Mr. Nobody! He then became the famous pro-
fessional wrestler that we now know and love for ten years, but then he also quit that gig. (To be fair, he suffered a pulmonary embolism, which explains everything.) He then became mayor of a town in Minnesota before becoming Governor of that state in 1998. Then he decided not to run for reelection in 2002. This means that he also quit as Governor just like Palin did. So who's the quitter now, Mr. Nobody?

Mr. Nobody never had to face scrutiny like Sarah Palin did. The media destroyed her while she ran for Vice President last year. They are still going strong at it, and Mr. Nobody had to pile it on. Palin has had at least 15 phony ethics charges go against her, and they were all thrown out. Those complaints cost the state of Alaska $2 million and Sarah Palin $500,000 personally. She was not capable of governing. These are burdens that Mr. Nobody never had to face. Sarah Palin may have resigned as Governor of Alaska, not she's now concentrating on other priorities. She'll be writing a book. She'll be making money on tour. She'll be taking care of her five children, her youngest with Down's Syndrome. Sarah Palin is not hiding under a rock too afraid to come out. She'll come back stronger than ever. Take that, Mr. Nobody!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WONDER WOMAN!

If you are a child of the 1970s like me, you may recall some of the beautiful women of that time. Some of the guys may have preferred skating champion Dorothy Hamill, disco diva Donna Summer, or the late Farrah Fawcett. But for my money, the sex siren of that era was Lynda Carter, the one who brought Wonder Woman to life. When I saw Diana Prince spin around and transform herself into the famous Amazon woman, I reached puberty at the ripe old age of eight. I mention this because today is Lynda Carter's birthday. I won't reveal her actual age, but let's just say she might be a member of AARP now. Jokes aside, she still looks amazing. All of us guys could go wild over Wonder Woman's outer beauty, but we need to look deeper into her inner beauty.

I want to start with her two silver bracelets and matching tiara, each donning a red star, which is significant for a special reason. Whenever an American mother sends her son off to war, she will have a flag with a blue star draped on her front door. The star signifies the son's service to our country. Likewise, the red star lets everybody know that Wonder Woman serves America because that's her uniform. She has the job of defending America just like our brave soldiers
do in fighting wars.

Then there are her knee-high red boots with those high heels. I can't figure out how she could run around in those things. Men wouldn't look good in those during combat. They look very uncomfortable and their legs are too hairy. But Wonder Wonder could pull it off because of who she is. As Nancy Sinatra once sang: 'These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do. 'Cause one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.' She must've had Wonder Woman in mind. The rest of her uniform displays true American symbolism. Her star-spangled shorts assure us that she is ready to defend the land of the free and the home of the brave. Her lassoo - and, no, it's not a whip like Indiana Jones would carry - is a true American assessory in the tradition of the long-lost era of the western cowboy.

Finally, there's the piece de resistance, the low-cut and strapless corset. Wonder Woman looks beautiful in it, but let's remember the symbol that's on it. We all know the silver American eagle with its wings spread out while perched along her (I must be careful here) bosoms. The eagle is the American symbol of freedom. On the back of the one-dollar bill, the eagle carries 13 arrows in one talon and the olive branch with 13 leaves on the other. The arrows show America's willingness to fight against her enemies; the olive branch symbolizes America's ability to extend peace to her allies. Wonder Woman always stands for peace, but don't you dare provoke her. We can all admire her outer beauty. If Wonder Woman were eye candy, our corneas would be loaded with cavities. But her outer beauty is complete only when she has her inner beauty intact. They go hand-in-hand. Now that's American.

Don't let the Raptors go extinct!

Yesterday on Fox News, I heard that the U.S. Senate scrapped the F-22 Raptor jet fighter program. The program costs only a few billion dollars, but was abolished thanks to Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and our own Carl Levin (D-MI), who is the powerful Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The F-22 will give America the logistical and technological advantage in warfare for the next 40 years. Opponents say we could scrap the F-22s for the less expensive F-35, even though the F-22 is much more advanced. Some people say that the F-22 costs $350 million each, although that number is in dispute because that includes the reaseach and development that went into it. Supporters like me say the F-22 is essential to defend America in this post-9/11 world.

What's most upsetting about this is that Washington is blowing up our taxes and spending on social programs like bailouts, universal health care, and the stimulus packages. We will have trillion-dollar deficits for at least another decade, but we can't spend about $2 billion a year to maintain the F-22 program? President Barack Obama promised to give us shovel-ready programs through his stimulus programs, yet the F-22 is just such a program. The Bush administration spent billions of dollars in R & D on the Raptor. Now Obama wants to abolish the program. This is just one small example of how socialists view our military. He'll get soft and chummy with the worst dictators and cut defense spending like the F-22 and missile defense, but he'll give trillions in social programs. The F-22 would replace many obsolete aircraft and make our military leaner and more effective. This will help us win wars and save money in the long run. The F-22 is the best fighter jet to date. Let's use it to our advantage. It would be a shame to see our politicians make the Raptors go extinct with the rest of the dinosaurs.

The toss that couldn't!

For those of you who didn't watch baseball's All-Star Game on Tuesday, you missed an extra special treat. We've all heard of the shot 'heard 'round the world.' Now hear of the tale of the baseball that couldn't even reach home plate. At the pre-game festivities of the mid-summer classic at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Cardinal legend Stan Musial received a rousing standing ovation as he entered the playing field courtesy of a convertible. Just when Cardinal fans cele-brated its hero, along came President Barack Obama to deflate the air out of the balloon. Here's what happened.

When Joe Buck introduced the President, our Cammander-in-Chief was greeted to an equal serving of cheers and boos. Now Cardinal fans rarely ever boo anybody. They even cheer for opposing teams, which is unheard of. (Strike one!) To make matters worse, Obama wore a Chicago White Sox jacket. He didn't even have the common sense to wear his Presidential jacket
to let people know he's the President of all the people. (Strike two!) And then there was the throw to home plate. In case you didn't see it, that's okay. Nobody saw it because Fox showed his throw to Albert Pujols from the pitcher's mound on an upward angle. This was clearly a poorly-drawn PR move on the part of the White House. Obama's throw was nothing less than wimpy.
It was a high arch that resembled the St. Louis arch. And it didn't even make it to home plate because Big Albert scooped it out of the dirt. (Strike three!)

Now let's compare this to President George W. Bush's pitch at Yankee Stadium in 2001 right after the 9/11 tragedy. And you can't get away with anything in New York City, especially in the Bronx. You'll get dragged out of the city with your tail between your legs if you upset them. But Bush was cool under pressure as he threw a perfect strike. And everybody saw it too. No decep-tive camera angles were necessary, and Bush won the crowd over. Deal with that, Barack!

I think Obama's throw, if you dare call it that, will resemble America's greatness during his first and only term in office. Our dominance in the world will reach its peak and then crash to the ground with no safety net. I'm afraid the worst is yet to come.

Show some empathy for Frank Ricci.

This week begins the hearings of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Monday was pretty much saturated with Senators making mindless monologues. But now we're getting into the question-and-answer part. I'm interested most of all in the case of Frank Ricci. If you're unfa-miliar to the case, Frank Ricci is a fireman in New Haven, Connecticut. He took a standard test in his department to see if he could be promoted. He studied extra hard for the test because he suf-fers from dyslexia, a very serious learning disability. He hired a tudor a spent extra time and money for the test. Frank Ricci passed the test as did many of his fellow firemen. Yet the city threw out the results of the 20 firemen who passed. Their crime: 19 were white, one was His-panic. Not one black passed the test.

The firefighters who passed the test sued the city. The case went to the 2nd Curcuit Court of
Appeals (of which Sotomayor was a member). The 2nd Curcuit ruled in favor of the city, inclu-ding Sotomayor. The case went to the U.S. Supreme Court, which overturned the 2nd Curcuit's decision 5-4. Now Sonia Sotomayor is waiting to be confirmed to the highest court in the land.

Sotomayor has said that she wants to show empathy as a judge, but there's a huge difference between empathy and justice. Empathy is relating to another person's emotions and feelings. Justice is about applying the law. She thought it was alright for the city of New Haven to throw out the results of the test because she showed 'empathy' to the blacks who failed the test. Yet she showed absolutely no empathy for a man who overcame a learning disability. You would think that America of all places on earth would reward those who overcome adversity, but not Sotomayor. What was the use of all those firemen working long hours to pass a test if bureau-
crats could toss out the results? People talk about racism all the time, but what about sticking up for those with learning disabilities? Is that too much to ask? I would've hoped that Sotomayor
could've shown some empathy for Frank Ricci.

Run, Sarah, run!

The radical left is continuing to hound and destroy Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Liberals have made cheap shots at her family, mocked her appearance, and leveled countless phony charges against her. The McCain/Palin ticket lost eight months ago and the liberals still find her a threat. A lot of people are condemning Palin for stepping down without finishing her first term. They deem her a quitter who's just out for herself and wants to run for President. I totally disagree with this opinion.

Palin's resignation was not a political move at all. Had it been purely political, she would've fin-ished out the rest of her term (which ends 12/31/10) so she could run for President in 2012. Instead, this was a tactical move to prevent liberals from attacking her further. Sarah Palin has had 15 ethics charges filed against her, all without any merit. This has cost the state of Alaska, with fewer than one million people, two million dollars. The legal bills mounted against Palin her-self are up to $500,000. She has had no ability to work and govern for her state and its people. She's frustrated and has had enough. Her resignation is her way of saying 'you won't have Sarah Palin to kick around anymore.' You go, girl!

Now Palin will have time to write her book, pay her bills, attend to her family, and raise money for the Republican Party. I know the next election is a long way off, but I would really like to see her run. Sarah Palin for President 2012. I like the sound of that.

Sanford, you big dummy!

We've all heard of the indiscretions of that talking philandering fool, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, by now. Sanford admitted to having an affair with a woman named Maria from Argentina. Over Father's day weekend, he was MIA as he skipped town to be with his mistress in her home country. In his admission, he made a tearful apology as he kept rambling on. You can't make this stuff up.

Governor Sanford was the most ardent opponent of accepting stimulus money from Washington.
Yet he was delivering his own 'stimulus plan' to his foreign mistress. I can only imagine what Saturday Night Live will do to him. They can have Sanford playing Tony in 'West Side Story' singing 'Maria, I just had an affair with Maria.' And we all remember Evita Peron singing 'Don't cry for me, Argentina.' Sanford can sing 'don't cry for me, South Carolina.' The press was telling us that Governor Sanford could've been a viable Republican candidate for President in 2012. Now Fred G. Sanford looks like a better candidate.

Speaking of that, I just thought of another parody. We all remember 'Sanford and Son' starring
Redd Foxx. Now we can have Governor Sanford and his four sons in 'Sanford and Sons.' The Governor would be kicked out of the luxurious governor's mansion so that he and the boys (minus Mrs. Sanford) could live in a junk yard. And whenever Mr. Sanford has an argument with his sons, he'll go into a conniption fit and yell 'this is the big one, Maria! This is the big one! I'm coming to join ya in Argentina!' It would be a hoot.

Sanford, you are a big dummy.

Hope you had a good July 4th!

I hope that all of my readers, and even those who aren't, had a great July 4th. It was a beautiful weekend. Last year I made a joke that the Fourth of July was so beautiful that even Jeremiah Wright said 'God Bless America.' I hope the joke carries on in the future. Anyway, my niece and nephew just flew in from Connecticut on Saturday and will spend the month of July in Michigan.
They're 10 and 11, respectively. It's nice to see them again, but I hope they leave before the state of Michigan declares them unemployed. I spent all day Sunday and Monday with them at my Aunt and Uncle's, so I apologize for not giving you my sharp commentary on the issues of
the day. But with the news being so busy lately, I'll be anxious to get back with both barrels blasting. So stay tuned. You ain't heard nothing yet. Liberals, you've been warned, but happy
Indepenence Day anyway!

Vote no on the Macomb County Charter!

On June 17th, the Macomb County Commission voted 25-0 (with one commissioner absent) to approve the Macomb County Charter. Governor Jennifer Granholm will have 30 days from June 23rd to approve the Charter. After that, the Charter will be placed on the November 3rd ballot
seeking approval from the people. This is when I want the people of Macomb County to rise up and vote no on the Charter. There are several reasons why.

The Democrats, along with the unions and the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, pushed for the charter last year and got it. The Democrats have three major objections. First, they want to reduce the number of County Commissioners from 26 to 13. They'll draw three districts north of Hall Road and rest south of it. This will guarantee them a majority of about 10-3 on the County Commission. Second, they want to establish a County Executive that will consolidate more power and raise taxes within the county. Third, the Democrats want to use the County Executive position as a steppingstone for higher office like Senator or Governor. And they want to put this on the ballot in November in an off-year election so they can sneak this by the voters.
Nice try, Democrats. I can see your ploy. The Democrats say that this new form of government will streamline the county government. But given their track record, you shouldn't believe that for a second.

This is the same Democratic Party that raised our millage rates nine percent in Macomb County.
They skyrocketed our taxes in Lansing. And they're practically creating a quasi-socialist state in Washington. I could chronicle everything, but that would require me writing a book and you know a lot of it, anyway. Republicans have been badly beaten in the last two elections. But so much has happened since. A huge grassroots movement has taken place with the tea parties consisting of Americans from all walks of life who just want their lives back to normal. I'm star-
ting to read the Charter now. (You can read it by visiting www.macombcountymi.gov!) One thing that the Democrats, who possess a 22-4 majority in the Charter Commission, placed in the Charter was the establishment of an Ethics Board. This board will consist of five people appoin-ted by the Executive that will enforce ethics in the county. That sounds nice and good, but why not have the County Commission enforce ethics? There's no need to appoint a separate board to enforce ethics! It's just more bureaucracy that we can't afford.

We can also not afford higher taxes and more government. Please vote no on the Macomb County Charter on November 3rd.

What is their major malfunction?

Our politicians are taking command and control of our lives to greater heights daily. Higher taxes, massive bailouts, corporate takeovers, the housing crisis, skyrocketing deficits, socialized medicine, the expansion of welfare, growing unemployment, and booming inflation are just some of the many problems that Democrats are causing to make our problems more miserable. But what is the basic difference between how liberals and conservatives view the world? The answer may unlock the key to the problem.

Liberals lack several critical personality traits essential for daily living: intelligence, common sense, decency, compassion, love, empathy, sympathy, a work ethic, concentration, and so on. But at the foundation of it all, liberals lack focus because they want to control everything. Our Founding Fathers knew that power within government had to be decentralized and limited in order for it to work. Today, President Barack Obama wants centralized and unlimited power for himself. Conservatives realize that the powers of the federal government should be concentated
in a few constitutional obligations: a strong military, a rule of law, the preservations of our rights, and other powers described in Article I, Section 8. Conservatives want to simplify as much as
possible so we can be focused. Liberals want to complicate as much as possible to stay in power.

Concentration of power and lack of focus caused the Soviet Empire to collapse under its own weight. It's amazing how determined we were to eradicate Communism abroad when faced with a nuclear threat, yet we are so naive to let Communism take over our lives gradually in our own back yard.

Tea partiers vs. the press (the real story)

We've all seen the negative coverage of the hundreds of tea parties held across America on April
15th. Hundreds of thousands of patriotic Americans took to the streets to protest higher taxes and government largesse. A lot of media critics concluded that the press bashed these protesters because they're rallying against the Democrats in charge of our government. While that may be the case to one extent, I think something else is in play here.

Many media and entertainment people portrayed the protesters as racist, sexist rednecks. We all can recall Jeneane Garofalo saying 'this is racism straight up' on MSNBC. But I think the real reason the press came down so hard on the tea partiers is because they represented a threat to the mainstream press, not just a threat to the politicians they support. Deep down inside, those protesters hate how the press portrays them, not just how the politicians want to raise their taxes.

Think of what has happened to media outlets in recent years. Many liberal newspapers have folded their tents or have cut back because they're getting fewer subscribers. The feeble attempt
by liberals to start a talk radio enterprise went belly-up. Virtually nobody listened to Air Amer-
ica, or 'Dead Air America' as I like to call it. And the viewership in the television media is favor-ing Fox News more every day. ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, and CNBC are suffering from lower ratings and less revenue.

The media is worried about its own fate more than about the Democrats they favor. The Demo-
crats have a firm control of all lavels of government. They can take care of themselves while raking the taxpayers over the coals. So when you see all the people in the mainstream press complaining about all of the patriotic protesters in these tea parties on July 4th, remember that they're really worried about the future of their own existence.

The wrong host called it quits!

You've heard of the controversy between late night talk show host David Letterman and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin by now, but I need to have my say in this. On his show earlier this week, Letterman cracked a 'joke' when Palin came to New York over the weekend to attend a Yankees game and do charity work for autism. Letterman said that during the 7th inning stretch of the game, Yankee Alex Rodriguez knocked up Palin's daughter. This is not humor; this is a sign of mental illness. What made it worse was that the audience laughed at the 'joke'. Letterman is clearly a political hack making this preemptive strike on Governor Palin. He didn't crack a joke; he just cracked up. And he didn't make a joke; he is a joke!

I thought the election was over. Palin was not on the campaign trail. Letterman's 'joke' was only offensive and vile. His so-called apology was far from authentic. He was trying to defend himself by saying that he was referring to Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol instead of her 14-year-old daughter Willow. I don't buy that at all. It was just a feeble attempt at weaseling his way out of the situation. Nice try, Letterboy!

It's amazing how liberals still think Palin is a threat to their agenda. Yet liberals are a greater threat to America than Palin is to the liberal establishment. Jay Leno retired after being the host of 'The Tonight Show' for 17 years. I think the wrong host called it quits. Leno was funny. Letter-
man would be better off doing stupid pet tricks. And if Sarah Palin is elected President in 2012,
Letterman would have to play dead. God help us.

First, do no harm!

You've obviously heard of the death of Dr. George Tiller, the notorious late-term abortion doctor, by now. Tiller was murdered in his church last Sunday in Kansas by an anti-abortion fanatic. First I just want to say that I feel very sorry for the loved ones he left behind, but Tiller himself is another matter.

While the incident is very tragic, Dr. Tiller received what he deserved. He was responsible for the deaths of up to 60,000 babies who could've survived effortlessly outside the womb. George Tiller is not a doctor in the traditional or moral sense of the word. Doctors take an oath to do no harm, but Tiller committed infanticide. I would've preferred that he would've met his fate differently, but I have no sympathy for him.

The state of Kansas had opportunities to prosecute Tiller for his practices, but the politicians never pursued the matter. Tiller ran one of only three clinics in America that performed partial-
birth abortions, and he charged up to $5,000 per procedure. It's amazing how liberals who claim to condemn obscene profits will turn a blind eye when those profits benefit the abortion industry.
It's shocking how the same liberals who claim to fight for equal rights for blacks, Hispanics, and women refuse to lift a finger for the unborn. It's depressing to hear anti-war zealots claim that our brave soldiers are baby killers while abortion doctors kill babies at will. To paraphrase Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, 'Tiller's death, while tragic, probably saved lives.' George Tiller
was neither a healer nor a martyr; he was just a baby killer. Nuf said.

What big government means to us!

Big government has now encroached into every nook and cranny of our lives. With higher taxes,
booming deficits, high unemployment, huge bailouts, and the government takeover of so many industries, Americans aren't going to have a lot of money or control left when the Democrats are through with us. So what will that mean for our lives in the short or long runs? I'm afraid the worst is yet to come.

One thing that gives people comfort when times are tough is having a backup plan. Having some-thing to fall back on is essential when life knocks you down. Having candles and flashlights is handy when the power goes out. Having extra money in the bank is good if you lose your job or need a car repair. And of course children need their parents to raise them right. But when the government takes half of your earnings in the form of taxes, fees, penalties, fines, or regulations,
it's hard to fall back on anything.

When the government takes so much of your money, you may have just enough to help you live,
but nothing else to make you thrive and prosper. And don't fall for the line that government is
there to help. The government doesn't give back; it just takes. Government's only role is to be present when emergencies happen. That's why it's essential to have a military, police officers,
and firefighters. It should be there only as a last resort, and that's it. It's not meant to micro-
manage our daily living. Let the people manage their own daily living. All of this social engi-

Here's a joke for all of you to ponder. What is the headquarters of the Democratic Party called? The Death Star. This may sound like a joke, but the Democrats are doing some serious damage to this great republic we call the United States of America. President Barack Obama and his minions are pushing a socialist agenda that's running to the left of the Soviet Union. If you don't
believe me, consider all that he has done in his first four months in office. A cap-and-trade envi-
ronmental plan that will cost the average American family thousands of dollars in added costs. Strict new CAFE standards on cars that will force automakers to build lighter cars that could kill people on the road. Higher taxes on cigarettes, capital gains, and everything else. No plan on reforming entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid.

The government has taken over the insurance companies, the banks, the big three, and possibly
the health care industry. America's Gross Domestic Product - which measures the wealth of the nation - is estimated to decrease by about 6.1% according to Fox News. Unemployment is going up while government revenues are going down. The federal budget for FY 2009 will be $4 trillion while the deficit will grow to about $1.7 trillion. There will be $10 trillion in additional debt within the next decade.

On top of that, Obama is about to choose a far-left liberal to the U.S. Supreme Court thanks to the retirement of Justice Souter. He planned on closing Gitmo, but thankfully the Senate voted him down 90-6. (One of those dissenting votes was Carl Levin!) Obama is combining the Pro-gressive Movement, the New Deal, the Great Society, and Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto into one large blender with a generous amount of Kool-Aid to the mix. He's just waiting for us to drink it. No thanks, Mr. President. I'll stick to my tea and my grapefruit juice.

I might be a pretty smart guy, but I'm confused about something. I need to ask you a question and perhaps you can answer it for me. Why is orange juice always called OJ but grapefruit juice is never called GJ? I know it's a rhetorical question. Grapefruit juice tastes bitter. Yet ever since O.J. Simpson became a criminal back in 1994, I couldn't write down just OJ whenever I had to write down orange juice on my grocery list. I had to write the whole thing out. Maybe you've had the same problem.

I started a new tradition on Sunday. I bought a carton of grapefruit juice. I now use it for my
morning smoothie. Perhaps Americans can start a new tradition by buying grapefruit juice at the store and calling it GJ. I may not have won the Heisman Trophy, but I've never killed anybody and gotten away with it either. I think we should also stop calling orange juice by OJ because O.J. Simpson is no longer the juice; he is Kool-Aid. The juice is now concentrated and canned in an 8"x10" cell. But don't feel sad for Mr. Simpson. He has his Heisman Trophy to keep him com-pany. It occupies the top bunk.

So let's start something new in America. Have a glass of grapefruit juice (GJ) on me. Come to think of it, grapefruit juice and I are a lot alike. We both might be a little bitter, but we're good for your health. Enjoy!

It's that special time of year!

It's that special time of year again. The birds are flying back up north for the summer. The trees and flowers are blooming once more. People are grilling steaks and burgers. It's also time to break out that special something that will attract attention. It's that eight-letter word that begins with s. No, I'm not talking swimsuit season, but rather seatbelt season. This is when traffic cops with nothing else better to do (like catch dangerous criminals) will try to catch you for not wearing your seatbelt.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous for any cop armed with a gun, a badge, and a C-average in high school to have the authority to give you a $65 ticket. It's simply another poor excuse for the government to take our hard-earned money, especially in today's tough economic times. So as Memorial Day comes around, I encourage all you lovely ladies to wear your revealing bikinis and buckle up. It's the law!

A DUNCE CALLED WANDA!

Last Saturday in Washington, the White House Correspondents Dinner took place. Hundreds of egotistical bigshots from politics, the media, and Hollywood converged on this socialist powder keg. This is a time to relax, have fun, let your hair down, and slam conservatives. Such was the case with so-called comedian Wanda Sykes. Those who watched the event know which com-ments I'm talking about, but I will discuss them.

Sykes made some awful quips, not jokes, directed at Rush Limbaugh. At first, she accused Rush of being the 20th hyjacker on 9/11 but missed his flight because he was strung out on oxycontin.
To accuse Limbaugh of hyjacking an airplane is absolutely outrageous. Rush Limbaugh is as American as baseball and apple pie. If you think about it, President Barack Obama's admini-stration did a virtual reenactment of that tragic day with that foolish fly-by that scared thou-sands of New Yorkers who still remember 9/11 very vividly. Then Ms. Sykes commented on what Rush said about him wanting Obama's policies to fail. Then she said 'I hope his kidneys fail.'
I'm still waiting for the punchline on this one. It simply was not funny.

These liberals are using Saul Alinsky's rules to the letter. Alinsky, author of "Rules for Radicals,"
had as one of his most popular rules: pick it, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. From MSNBC to Wanda Sykes, from Perez Hilton to the Huffington Post, liberals are circling the wagons and going for the kill. I wish the Republican Party would counteract this behavior with an attack machine of its own. The tea parties were a great start, but it's only just a beginning. I'll start this new tradition by saying that Ms. Sykes should star in a movie called 'A Dunce Called
Wanda.' But I don't think a lot of people will waste their money on it.

Why America has the best military in the world.

We all know that America has the best military in the world, but people may not know why. After doing extensive thought and research on the subject, I finally discovered the answer. It may not be what you think it is, but you'll agree with me once you hear it. It's not because of high technology, although our advancements give our soldiers a clear logistical advantage. It's not because we've had the greatest leaders, although superior leadership has given us the edge. It's not because military people believe in God and country, although you'll never find a group of people more patriotic than those in the American military. The real reason why America has the best military in the world is because the military is not unionized. The United States military is 100% union-free, and it should stay like that.

Think about this for a minute. Have the Marines ever gone on strike? No. The Marines are first to strike, not go on strike. Have sailors ever picketed on aircraft carriers? No. They're too busy protecting this country. Have the Air Force or Army ever threatened to attack this country if they didn't get everything that they demanded from their unions? No. These people love their country too much to do that. Can raw recruits demand better treatment from their union representatives when their drill instructors become too demanding? No. Recruits must be molded to become warriors.

The military brings out the best in people. The military demands a standard of excellence that you don't witness in other endeavors. Military people do their duty because they love America,
not because of money or benefits. Our military has done an outstanding job for 233 years. Our military has freed hundreds of millions of oppressed people all over the world. Our reputation is outstanding. Now compare that to government entities that are dominated by unions. Our edu-
cation system can't educate children, yet the unions demand more money for sloppy perfor-
mance. Our postal workers, municipal workers, welfare employees, and many others in govern-
ment do a horrible job (mostly because of the system), but their unions demand more money, more protection, and lower expectations. In these tough economic times, the military is facing deep budget cuts while all of the other government departments are enjoying record growth
because our politicians are promoting a tax-and-spend socialist agenda.

I would love for the rest of our government to follow the military's example by dropping union
representation. That way our public servants would follow a better example of actually serving the public. And I would love to imagine what would happen if some union thug approached Gen-
eral George Patton and demanded that his 3rd Army be unionized before facing the Germans.
Patton would smack that union thug in the head and run him over with a Sherman tank. Now that would be a sight to see. Even Dwight Eisenhower would enjoy that. Semper fi!

County Board Increases Taxes!

On the campaign trail, Senator Barack Obama promised to cut taxes for 95% of all Americans. Now that he's President, he has obviously forgotten about all of the citizens in Macomb County because the Board of Commissioners voted to increase the millage rate by 9 per cent. I went to the board meeting along with many others who voiced their opinions one way or another. I wasn't present for the final vote, but it is sad that the Democrats are raising taxes, skyrocketing deficits, and printing money that we do not have.

I voiced my own opinion in front of the board on the issue. The first thing I mentioned was that while running for the Charter Commission last year, I wrote on my advertisement that 'I do not fear that America will become a socialist country. I fear America already is a socialist country.' I then gave a statistic that America's Gross Domestic Product (the GDP, or the size of the country's economy) shrunk by 6.1%, meaning that $1 trillion of our wealth has evaporated. I talked about how Washington and Lansing are ruining this economy with higher taxes and runaway spending, with our unemployment rates reaching levels that we haven't seen in decades. I did the best I could, but my effort, along with those of many others, came up short. The commission voted for the millage increase by a 16-10 margin. All six Republicans along with four Democrats voted against the tax hike, but 16 Democrats voted for it. It's a shame.

In these tough economic times, the last thing we can afford to do is increase taxes. All that will do is discourage the creation of jobs and wealth for all Americans. On Saturday, former NFL quar-
terback and conservative Republican Jack Kemp died of cancer. During his great political career,
Kemp was a Congressman, a former Vice Presidential running mate with Bob Dole, and a staunch
advocate of President Ronald Reagan's tax cuts in the 1980s. Those tax cuts created incredible
economic growth, increased revenues to government, and made the rich pay a greater percen-
tage of the tax burden. Although it's been only three days since Kemp's passing, he's already
turning over in his grave as the Democrats have ruined this economy. We need to stop the bleeding now before it's too late.

Happy 100 days, Mr. President!

Today is President Barack Obama's 100th day in office. Everybody wants to give him a grade. I'd like to give him a D-. The only reason I'm not giving him an F is because the American flag is still flying on our flagposts, at least for now. On foreign policy and national defense, I must give him an F for several reasons.

First, Obama is reducing our defense budget by about $50 billion. This includes shutting down the F-22 Raptor jet fighter program and reducing missile defense. He's also going to great lengths apologizing about American greatness and kissing up to world dictators. He even went to France and claimed that America was arrogant. Our military cemeteries are filled with the graves of soldiers who paid the ultimate price to defeat oppression around the world for over 200 years. If that is arrogance, I can't imagime what humility looks like. Obama has done noth-ing to keep our enemies at bay. He should've shot down North Korea's Taepodong-2 missile that traveled over Japan. He is also making us captive to China as that country is buying more of our crushing debt.

Now his administration is thinking about bringing charges against the Bush administration for using interrogation techniques on terrorists. Although these techniques have given America valuable information in preventing future attacks on its own soil, Obama wants to bite the hand that kept it safe. And then on Monday, Air Force One flew by at low altitude in New York City for the sake of a photo opportunity with the Statue of Liberty! Obama has gone too far this time. That stupid stunt costs $328,835 according to Fox News. It also scared thousands of New Yor-kers who still remember 9/11 very vividly. No wonder Obama wants to blame Bush for using harsh interrogation methods. He practically inpersonated the terrorists who killed 3,000 of our brothers and sisters! Neither Mayor Michael Bloomberg nor the public was notified of this. It was as if Tom Cruise's character Maverick in 'Top Gun' buzzed the city and scared everybody to death. One 9/11 was tragic enough. We don't need any reminders.

The Obama administration will last 1,461 days and hopefully not a minute longer. Let's ride out the remaining 1,361 days and pray it gets no worse. In this era of higher taxes, bigger govern-
ment, and a shrinking economy, we now have to worry about our own President hitting us with an airplane. I might have to change my D- to an F very soon.

The Swine Flu, Part 2!

The swine flu may be a small epidemic for now, but it could turn into a major pandemic if we are careless. However, we must learn from history to prevent making the same mistake. According to Fox News, America faced the swine flu back in 1976. A group of American soldiers from Fort Dix acquired the swine flu, and one sadly died. Then President Ford ordered a nation-wide vaccination to combat this flu. 40 million Americans were vaccinated, but hundreds got sick from the vaccines. This led to the death of at least 100 people. The cure was worse than the disease, courtesy of the United States government. I wonder how many people will die when we get universal healthcare?

When I think of how the press covers tragedies, I'm reminded of Hurricane Katrina back in 2005. Everybody blamed President George W. Bush's administration for the poor response fol-
lowing the hurricane. But there are three factors that you must consider. First, New Orleans be-came flooded only after the storm passed because the levees gave way. They should've been built to handle stronger storms, but politics got in the way of that. Second, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin should've lined up the buses to help the poor and disabled evacuate the city. The people had warning five days ahead of time. The local government sat around for too long. Third, the military rescued dozens of people from rooftops in New Orleans, saving their lives. I wish people would've given President Bush a little credit for that.

I don't know how President Barack Obama will ultimately react to this situation, but he has yet to appoint a Secretary of Health and Human Services or a Surgeon General. Considering his poor track record of his first 100 days with higher taxes, rising deficits, and a weaker image around the world, I fear the worst. I won't wait for Washington to come to the rescue. In the meantime,
I'll just advise all Americans to take their vitamins and wash their hands.

I wish they all could be California girls!

I'm sure that most of us have seen the controversy between Miss California, Carrie Prejean, and the gay activist judge Perez Hilton over Prejean's answer to the question of allowing gay mar-riage at the Miss America pageant. Hilton asked Prejean if she believed whether or not gays should be allowed to be married. She answered by saying that although people have the right to believe what they want, she believed that marriage should be reserved exclusively between one man and one woman. Good for her. I'm so sick and tired of the same old 'world peace' answer that all those contestants give. What made this so incredibly disgusting was that Hilton actually had the nerve to video himself on his blog, call Prejean a b@#&*, and declare that he would've taken the tiara off her head had she won. These butt pirates have been very sore losers ever since Proposition 8 (which kept the traditional definition of marriage intact) in California won last November. Perez also actually said that Ms. Prejean should've said that the gay issue should be reserved to the states. This is in reality a non-answer. Hilton asked her opinion on traditional marriage and she gave her honest answer. If he didn't want to hear her answer, he shouldn't have asked it in the first place.

Hilton attacked her personally because she is a Christian who believes that Jesus Christ is her Lord and savior, nothing more. He has officially declared open season on devout Christians. But there's something else that nobody else has commented on. Hilton's attack on Prejean was really
a diversion. Gay activists love to attack the Christians because they can't afford to blame the people who defeated Prop 8 - the blacks. Seventy percent of blacks voted for Prop 8 even though 95 percent of them voted for Obama. If the gays started attacking the blacks, the Democratic Party base would be splintered permanently. Prop 8 won by four points thanks to the blacks.
Without the blacks, Prop 8 would've been defeated!

I wish Perez Hilton and his fellow gays would lighten up. The Democrats won big in the last two elections. They should just lick their wounds and try again. Christians aren't preventing them from being butt pirates. They just don't want their marriages made official. And I want to thank Carrie Prejean for standing up for her beliefs despite all of the criticism and for forgiving Hilton for wanting to destroy her life. She's ten times the human being Hilton could ever hope to be. She may have come in second in the contest, but she's Miss America to me. I wish they all could be California girls!

Help us, Obi Wan Kenobi. We're wearing Snuggies!

All of us have seen it on TV, the Snuggie, the armed blanket that is literally sweeping the nation. Millions of them have been sold. Drinking parties have now been inspired by this new creation.
By the next school year, Snuggie parties will replace toga parties on college campuses. But it suddenly occured to me last night. I've seen this before. The first person to don a Snuggie was Princess Leia from Star Wars. Of all the weapons, inventions, and gadgets that George Lucas inspired, the one that has come to fruition was the Snuggie.

Think about this for a minute. We're not flying around in Millennium Falcons. We can't travel at light speed. We don't have laser pistols or light sabers hanging off of our waists. We don't have laser beams that could blow up entire planets, although the Democrats are working hard on this one with all the money they're spending in Washington. We don't have cars that could hover off the ground. We don't have bionic arms that operate as well as authentic flesh. Instead of any of that, we created a fashion fad from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away called the Snuggie.

George Lucas should be demanding a percentage of the royalties on this one. What's next? Will women wear their hair to look like cinnamon buns? We should concentrate our efforts into
making technological wonders from the Star Wars movies. It's bad enough Carrie Fisher had to be so humiliated into putting on that notorious hair style. Now she'll be known as the woman who inspired the Snuggie sensation. Help us, Obi Wan Kenobi. We're wearing Snuggies!

Another poor excuse for the government to take our money!

Last Wednesday (April 15th), Warren Mayor Jim Fouts was issued a $100 ticket for going five miles over the speed limit on 12 Mile Road near Ryan. The police officer initially gave Fouts a warning, but the mayor insisted that he receive a ticket. Fouts quipped 'government officials aren't above the law. There's a perception that it's not what you know, but who you know. If I
don't respect the law, how can I expect others to?' Fouts, who was caught speeding while driving his 2009 Dodge Charger to show his support for the American auto industry, said his car attracts police. This is the thanks he gets for buying American? To make matters worse, he was ticketed on tax day.

While the mayor did the right thing by paying the fine, the libertarian in me wants to demand why he should pay in the first place? Violent crime is on the rise with all these mass shootings.
We have at least 12 million illegal aliens in America, many of whom have committed felonies like murder, rape, and drug smuggling. But Janet Reno thought a six-year-old Cuban boy was such a threat to the national security of the United States that she sent dozens of armed thugs to grab Elian Gonzales in the middle of night and send him back to Cuba. Our government has become more than oppressive enough as it is. The Democrats in Washington are running the federal government to the left of the Soviet Union. Our debt is approaching $11 trillion and will double within the next decade, but there's no talk of slapping our politicians with heavy fines. Taxes are skyrocketing at all levels of government everywhere. And now to add insult to injury, a Warren cop extracted an extra $100 from his boss for going five miles over the government-posted speed limit. Gimme a break!

This is just a sad microcosm of how the government will use any dumb excuse to take more of our hard-earned money. The government is making people starve with high taxes as it is. Mayor Fouts was not driving drunk or recklessly. He wasn't harming a sole. He got smacked with a $100 fine for going 5 miles over what the government says we should do. That's ridiculous! Any decent American could be nabbed for that. Meanwhile, Tim Geithner, who owed ten of thou-sands of dollars in taxes for several years, now runs the Treasury Department and the Internal
Revenue Service. We have to voice our concerns against big government. I got it. Let's hold massive tea parties across America.

Thank you for a great Lincoln Dinner!

As we celebrate the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln, I must congratulate the Macomb County Republican Party on putting on a wonderful Lincoln Dinner on April 15th. The food was great. It was also nice seeing former Governor John Engler speak there. Most of all, I want to personally thank all of you who signed the card (actually it was the paper with the card) for Megyn Kelly to wish her well on her baby which is due in October. I did not plan this ahead of time. On Wednedsay morning while watching 'America's Newsroom,' Megyn was interviewing Congressman Pete Hoekstra on his proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to protect the rights of parents. Hoekstra passively mentioned Megyn's pregnancy. I then went on the internet to confirm the story. I thought of giving her a card just from me. Then it suddenly hit me. Since I was going to the Lincoln Dinner that night, I had to help all of you to wish her well. My mission was a smashing success. I was able to collect about 200 of your signatures. I sent the card and your signatures to Fox News yesterday. I'm anxious for Megyn to receive our everlasting love and support. Thanks again for everything. This is to prove that the Republican Party is the pro-life party because I couldn't have achieved that with Democrats.

God save the Queen and Susan Boyle!

Thursday morning on 'America's Newsroom' on Fox News, Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly showed a video of a woman named Susan Boyle. Boyle, a 47-year-old who claimed she's never been kissed, appeared on the show 'Britain's Got Talent' hosted by Simon Cowell. Ms. Boyle, who was dressed in an old-fashioned house dress and looked older than her chronological age, sang the song 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Miserables. She pierced right through the thousands of fresh-faced twentysomethings and the three judges - one of whom was Cowell - as soon as she started singing with her lovely soothing voice. It was as if heaven opened up while Boyle fascin-
ated the crowd with her golden pipes. She received a rousing standing ovation and three very enthusiastic yesses from the judges.

Millions have watched her performance on YouTube. I thought it was one of the most inspira-tional performances ever. I don't think Susan Boyle will remained unkissed much longer. I think her dreams are about to come true. It was a moment truly worthy of royalty. God save the queen and Susan Boyle. Bravo!

Fox News anchorwoman Megyn Kelly is going to have a baby! She and her husband of one year,
Doug Brunt, are expecting their first child on October 6th. I want to congratulate them on bring-ing a new life into this world. As some of you know, I have Megyn's autographed picture which
is a permanent fixture on my nightstand. Now I appreciate it more than ever. On a day when everybody is worried about higher taxes, more government, and less freedom, it's nice to hear some great news. Let's wish the Brunts nothing but the best.

It was April Fool's Day on smokers!

While on the campaign trail, Senator Barack Obama promised that he would cut taxes for 95% of all Americans. Obviously, all smokers are un-American because he recently increased taxes on cigarettes. On April 1st, the federal cigarette tax will increase by 62 cents to a total of $1.01 per pack, to fund the expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program...(1) S-CHIP was originally designed to provide health care only to poor families. Now it has been expanded to the middle class.

According to a survey commissioned by the marketers of Nicorette, smokers are very concerned about the price of cigarettes. (2) 56% of smokers say the April 1st price increase will prompt them to smoke fewer cigarettes and 72% say the price increase on cigarettes would increase their intention to quit. (3) 47% of smokers say they would cut back on cigarettes because of the economy. (4) Fox News also reported that poorer people are more likely to smoke than weal-thier people. This is wealth redistribution in reverse because the poor are paying for health care for the middle class. These poor people are the ones who put President Obama into office. To add insult to injury, they can't even enjoy a fine Cuban cigar because of the Cuban trade embargo. Speaking of cigars, Fox News reporter Phil Keating stated that the tax on cigars went up 700% - from 5 cents to 40 cents per cigar.

"Research shows that smokers are more likely to try to quit when the price of cigarettes goes up," said Dr. Frank Chaloupka, professor of economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago

and affiliate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. "Given the recent tax hike and the state of the economy, now would be a great time for smokers to re-evaluate how smoking affects their finances and calculate how much they could save by quitting. A typical pack-a-day smoker

could be spending approximately $2,000 each year on cigarettes, but no matter how expensive

it is to smoke, quitting smoking is a big challenge." (5)

Did you catch that last sentence? It now costs about $6 for a pack of cigarettes thanks to taxes.

The percentage of those who smoke has been going down for several years. When these poor smokers start dying off without having as many people to replace them, what happens to S-CHIP? The politicians will then increase the cigarette tax again very soon and very steeply. I find it tragically ironic that Republicans as well as Democrats pushed for this tax increase on a very unhealthy habit to pay for health care for others. Yet these are the same politicians who will probably increase funding for smoking cessation programs. Can't they make up their minds?

Either way, the taxpayers are the fools because the joke's on us. I hope all of you will have a happy Tea Party Day tomorrow. In the meantime, we need all you smokers to light up so the government can pay for health care. This includes you, President Obama.

The University of Connecticut women's basketball team became the team of destiny as it defeated Louisville 76-54 to win the NCAA national championship. UConn not only won the championship as an undefeated team (39-0), but it also won every game in double digits. This has never happened before in college basketball. Head coach Geno Auriemma has now won his sixth national championship with the Lady Huskies. In fact, this is his third undefeated team.
He also achieved perfection in 1995 and 2002. This means that Auriemma has had three perfect seasons seven years apart. Following this pattern, the Lady Huskies should achieve another perfect season in 2016. Coach Auriemma should start recruiting the best 13-year-old basketball players in the nation right now just for this purpose. It would serve the program well. I really need to congratulate the UConn women's basketball team for an incredible season.

NORM COLEMAN VS. STUART SMALLEY

The election for the U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota between Republican Senator Norm Coleman and Democratic challenger Al Franken (aka Stuart Smalley) still rages on. After election night,
Coleman had a lead of about 750 votes. Now after several recounts, Smalley has a lead of about 312 votes according to Fox News. Many huge legal battles have ensued in the meantime. There have also been a lot of suspicious things going on in this election. Remember all of those ballots for Smalley that were found in the trunk of a car? Remember the precincts that had more votes for Smalley than registered voters? This has become more confusing than just about anybody can imagine. I fear that this will rage on for a long time.

Everybody is always emphasizing that this race is so close. What we should examine is why it is so close. About a month before the election, Senator Coleman voted in favor of the original $700 billion stimulus package that was designed to bail out the housing crisis and had tons of pork in it.
Minnesotans were very upset at Coleman for abandoning the Republican Party's conservative roots with just that one vote. Had he voted no on that bill, he probably would've won by about
100,000 votes and avoided this whole mess in the first place. I have no idea how this mess will be settled, but if Coleman loses, it will be his own doing. The simple lesson here is that Repub-
licans cannot afford to abondon their principles. This is too bad because Smalley isn't good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, people really don't like him to be a U.S. Senator.

CONGRATULATIONS, TAR HEELS!

Last night at the NCAA national championship game in men's basketball, the North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Michigan State Spartans by a score of 89-72 at Ford Field in Detroit. I'm sure almost everybody in Michigan (even some Michigan fans if I can say that) wanted the Spartans to win. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. The Tar Heels caused a lot of turnovers and converted them into fast-break points. I do want to congratulate MSU head coach Tom Izzo for making an incredible run for the championship. The Spartans defeated two number one seeds in their previous games (Louisville and Connecticut) to make it to the big game in their home state. North Carolina was another #1 seeded team, and they proved to be too much for the Spartans. I do want to congratulate the North Carolina Tar Heels for winning its fifth NCAA championship in its program. They deserved their victory.
