Hello, everybody! I realize that it's been a very long time since I've written in my blog. I hope that I will inspire you to vote to get rid of the people who are ruining this great republic of ours and replace them with those who will honor the Constitution of the United States. A lot of things are getting me mad these days, but few things have gotten me hotter under my collar than what happened on 'Fox and Friends' on Fox News this morning.
Steve Doocy was interviewing a woman named Martha McSally, a retired Air Force Colonel who is running for the Congressional seat vacated by Gabby Giffords of Arizona. The topic was about women in combat, and McSally was a distinguished fighter pilot in her own right. Doocy played a clip of Presidential candidate Rick Santorum on what he thought about women in combat. Santorum was very critical of having women in combat for various personal and security reasons. Many people share Santorum's views, including me. When Doocy asked McSally what she thought of his comments, she said that she'd like to kick Santorum 'in the Jimmy'! I was absolutely stunned by the comment! I wonder if others had heard what she said, and if they did, were they as outraged as I was?
I thought that McSally's comment was deplorable and sickening. To threaten a major
Presidential candidate with bodily harm over a difference in opinion about national security is just gross. McSally is neither an officer nor a lady. She is a Section 8 mental case. When she became an Air Force officer, she took an oath to protect the people of the United States, not to insult them! I would hope that she would issue an immediate apology to Mr. Santorum.
But there's a bigger issue here as is always the case with insults such as these. There are many Americans, both men and women, who feel very uncomfortable accepting roles for women in combat situations. There are many reasons why the military is not an equal opportunity employer. We can't have just anybody guarding this country. We need the best people to serve in our military. (And we can start by hiring a new
Commander-in-Chief, but I'll talk about that later.) I share Santorum's views on women in combat. But when McSally said she wanted to kick Santorum in the Jimmy, it was as if she wanted to kick everybody with a differing opinion from hers in the groin. Ouch!
And to Martha McSally, who is running for Congress as a Republican, I would hope that you would keep your big mouth shut when it comes to private matters and private parts. You tried to sound like a guy in the locker room when you should've taken a more diplomatic path. Please issue an apology to Mr. Santorum now so that you can salvage your reputation as a officer and a lady. You may be a great Air Force pilot, but you have a lot to learn about political combat. You dropped a nuke when a bullet would've done the job. Next time, think before you speak.
Martha McSally, what the hell were you thinking?
